Job Description
The Sr. Automation Engineer II maintains and troubleshoots all process control system hardware and software (DeltaV DCS system) in support of the biopharmaceutical manufacturing process. Creates software design specifications, implements new control strategies and develops software test protocols in support of new products and processes. The ideal candidate is fluent with various other Automation systems including Data Historian (OSI PI), Data Acquisition Systems (DAS), Batch Reporting systems, and Rockwell PLCs.
What You'll Do
- Configure software for process improvements or new equipment. This includes configuring existing code and developing new control strategies for new and existing processes introduced into the facilities.
- Validates and tests software. Includes creating and executing software testing scripts utilizing GAMP 5 principles and internal compliance procedures.
- Troubleshoots software and hardware that comprises the DeltaV systems.
- Lead product tech transfers and perform Responsible Engineering (RE) duties across multiple Manufacturing Unit Operations.
- Mentor junior level Engineers.
- Lead and manage medium to large engineering projects with little direction.
- Allocate project tasks and provide direction to contract software engineers.
- Participate in multi-function teams to implement change and improve on existing processes.
- Troubleshoot process control systems and support manufacturing operations through an 24/7 on-call rotation.
Qualifications
- BS/BA in engineering.
- 6-8 years relevant experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of DeltaV distributed control system.
- Comprehensive knowledge of cGMP and GAMP guidelines.
- Biotechnology or batch pharmaceutical experience production experience preferred.
- Experience in Biotechnology Manufacturing specific areas: Cell Culture, Chromatography, Centrifugation, CIP\SIP preferred.
