The Sr. Engineer – IAC is a subject matter expert (SME) responsible for automating the provisioning, deployment, and management of cloud infrastructure using code. This role is fundamental to DevOps practices, ensuring environments are consistent, scalable, repeatable, and secure. Responsible for the design, architecture, implementation, and optimization of the enterprise-wide wireless network infrastructure. This position is part of the IT Global Infrastructure & Operation team and will be located in Bengaluru, India. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- IaC Development: Design, write, test, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates and modules using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to provision and manage cloud resources. Pipeline Integration: Integrate IaC solutions into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipeline) to achieve zero-touch, automated deployments.
- Configuration Management: Implement and manage Configuration Management tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible) for operating system and application layer setup and enforcement.
- Module Creation: Develop reusable, modular, and version-controlled IaC code to standardize environments and accelerate deployment across multiple accounts and regions.
- Version Control: Manage all infrastructure code in Git repositories and implement robust branching, merging, and code review strategies.
- Documentation & Collaboration: Create and maintain clear, comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, deployment guides, and best practices. Work closely with Cloud Architects and DevOps/Software Engineers to translate application requirements into scalable, resilient infrastructure code.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or a related role with a heavy focus on infrastructure automation.
- IaC Tools: Expert proficiency in at least one major IaC tool (Terraform preferred) and experience with a native cloud tool (e.g., AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager).
- Cloud Platform: Strong, hands-on experience with services from one or more major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Scripting: Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
- DevOps/CI/CD: Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Python, YAML
- Jira, Confluence
- Certifications: Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Terraform Associate).
