Senior Data Engineer – JM Flex Solutions LLC – 111 Jim Moran Boulevard, Deerfield Beach, FL

Job Duties: Be responsible for the implementation, designing, developing, debugging, integrating, transforming, consolidating, and troubleshooting of structured and unstructured data systems for analytic and relational solutions. Assist stakeholders and team members to understand data through exploration and strategy. Build out data processing pipelines. Administer, manage, and build out structural and nonstructural Azure data platform solutions. Apply and implement secure data principles and patterns. Create advanced and optimized queries. Work on many platforms (i.e., IBM Mainframe zOS/DB2 & VSAM, Azure SQL, Mango, Cosmos DB, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and Amazon RDS). Work closely with Solution Architects, Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, QA Engineers, Project Managers, Information Security Engineers, and Delivery Managers. Collaborate with Product Managers, Solution Architects, DevOps, and Information Security teams to understand data requirements for software development in an Agile environment. Compose and maintain detailed design specifications and component documents. Design alongside a team of engineers, focusing on 'data first' thinking while incorporating different end user experiences. Follow best practices and coding standards (i.e., code reviews, logging and instrumentation, static/dynamic code analysis, code coverage, and unit/integration tests). Find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes. Share knowledge with teammates in all forums. 

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Control and Instrumentation Engineering, or a related technical field required. Four years of software development experience with relational databases required. Four years of Mainframe development experience required, including any experience with COBOL and JCL. Any experience required with: the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (Cl/CD) models; data structures and algorithms; IBM Mainframe systems including VSAM, QSAM, and DB2 files; non-relational databases; building data pipelines, transformations, and analytical environments; and with the Azure Data Platform (Synapse, SQL, Cosmos DB, Databricks, and Machine Learning workspace). Any experience with at least one of the following skills required: Informatica IICS, Informatica Power Center, Azure Databricks, Big Data concepts, Data Lake concepts, and/or Machine Learning concepts. At least one of the following certifications is required: Azure Fundamentals, Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Cosmos DB Specialty, Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Data Scientist Associate, and/or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
