Position Overview 
Embedded Software Testing Engineer is responsible for planning, developing, and executing test strategies for embedded software used in power tool products. This role ensures software quality, reliability, safety, and performance through structured validation activities across development and release cycles. The engineer works closely with embedded software, systems, hardware, and quality teams to define test requirements, automate test execution, and support defect resolution. This position plays a key role in strengthening software verification practices by integrating test methods early in development and improving traceability across requirements, test cases, and results. The ideal candidate combines strong embedded systems knowledge with hands-on experience in software testing, debugging, and automation within product development environments.
 

Job Description.

  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test procedures for embedded software in power tool applications.
  • Validate software functionality, performance, reliability, and system behavior against requirements and design specifications.
  • Support unit, integration, system, regression, and white box testing activities across the software lifecycle.
  • Design and maintain automated test frameworks, scripts, and tools to improve test efficiency and coverage.
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams to define test strategies and acceptance criteria.
  • Analyze test results, identify defects, support root cause investigations, and verify corrective actions.
  • Support hardware-in-the-loop, software-in-the-loop, bench, and system-level testing where applicable.
  • Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, defects, and validation results.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of test methods, processes, and quality standards.
  • Prepare clear technical documentation, test reports, and validation summaries.
  • Mentor junior team members and support best practices in embedded software verification.
  • Analyze and reach sound decisions in complex technical situations.
  • Embrace cross functional teamwork.

Employee Specifications

  • ≥ Bachelor’s degree from accredited electrical or automation engineering college
  • 8+ years of experience in embedded software testing, preferably in motor control systems (such as PWM, PID…).
  • Proficiency in testing language LabVIEW and programming languages (C/C++) and scripting languages like Python.
  • Hands-on experience with testing tools, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debugging equipment.
  • Familiar with embedded software development processes and controls (version control, unit testing, bug tracking).
  • Knowledge of units, integration, system, regression, and white box testing
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with internal and oversea team members.
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and improve team testing maturity
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
