Ameresco is seeking an Engineer to join our growing Energy Efficiency Implementation Team. The position will provide engineering support for the implementation of various energy efficiency programs administered by AEG for commercial and multifamily utility customers. These programs require review of application submissions for energy efficiency measures in commercial and multifamily properties and pre- and final approval for processing of incentive payments for these projects.
Applied Energy Group (AEG), a global business within AMERESCO, is a leading provider of Demand Side Management (DSM) / energy related consulting services, tracking software platform and data analysis solutions for utilities. AEG services cover the full DSM life cycle: planning and program design, implementation, EM&V and regulatory support.
Responsibilities:
- Independently perform and/or review energy-related analyses which may include analysis of fuel and utility bills, estimation of energy efficiency savings and costs, measure engineering analysis, confirmation of energy savings and program benefit-cost analysis
- TRM interpretation in Commercial & Industrial and Multifamily Programs
- Independently manage assigned tasks, analyses, and projects to the project manager’s satisfaction
- Provide all necessary support, reports, and documentation required by management for commercial project review
- Review and approve energy audit documents, including narratives, provided by Subcontractors, Trade Allies and Engineering Firms
- Communicate analytical methods and results to clients and customers in a clear and effective manner
- Develop and document analysis methodology for projects or processes
- Develop and demonstrate expertise by staying at the forefront of the industry in terms of methods and/or innovations
- Provide strategies to maximize project efficiencies. Interface with commercial and multifamily customers and trade allies in support of program outreach and project data clarification
- Perform other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent
- 10 years related experience working on energy efficiency projects, energy savings programs, M&V, O&M or related areas
- Exposure to projects involving upgrades and retrofits at commercial, industrial or multifamily customer sites
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience in energy efficiency or related field
- PE, CEM, and/or IPMVP certifications preferred
- Expertise with MS Office Suite with advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- Experience with EM&V
- Understanding of engineering principles associated with energy saving measures
- Excellent verbal, written, computer, technical communication and presentation skills required
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and business relationships.
- Proven ability to gather, validate, and analyze quantitative data and information
- Commercial energy efficiency program experience preferred
- Familiarity with Energy Star, AHRI, ASHRAE and other industry standards
- Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information
- Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism and a cooperative attitude
- Strong organizational skills with proven ability to follow through on multiple tasks and priorities
