What you will be doing
- Assist in designing and conducting studies to evaluate new hardware/firmware prototypes, in both the development and validation stages.
Prototype algorithms:
Research novel methods for vital sign signal extraction using high frequency sensor data
Work with product team to define algorithm requirements and test metrics
Iterate rapidly to develop algorithm prototypes and communicate performance tradeoffs
Productize algorithms:
Port algorithms to C/C++ and optimize computations to meet processor and power constraints
Develop test protcols for data collection team, and perform QA to ensure the product meets the requirements
Contribute to team infrastructure and support data collection:
Ideate new tools to automate algorithm benchmarking and testing to improve team efficiency
Develop and maintain internal signal evaluation tools to help algorithm, firmware, and hardware teams optimize existing and future products
What you need
- PhD or MS in EE, CS, or related engineering field
- 5+ years experience in signal processing methods and algorithm design (FIR/IIR filters, adaptive filtering, statistical processes, time/frequency analysis, etc)
- Experience with pre-processing and analyzing large time-series datasets
- Experience in embedded C/C++, especially in resource constrained systems
- Experience with embedded microcontrollers, such as ARM Cortex M0/M4 or similar
- Nice to have: Experience with Machine Learning approaches a plus
- Nice to have: Working knowledge of mixed-signal hardware design for embedded systems
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong critical thinking skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure in a startup environment
