Onsite – Buffalo, NYThe Defense Sector of Moog’s Space and Defense Group (SDG) designs and manufactures control systems and components used over a wide array of applications ranging from precision flight control to critical military positioning systems for ground based systems. As an industry leader in integrated defense solutions, Moog has been committed to the defense industry for more than 60 years.Our team in the Western New York Defense team is looking for a Sr. Electrical Design Engineering Manager, to lead a team comprised of electrical, firmware and packaging design engineers. You will report to the Staff Design Engineering Manager with your own team of approximately 6-10 direct reports. The Senior Manager will also contribute as a key technical member of the design team. This position requires a high degree of foresight and creativity to anticipate and solve unprecedented engineering problems. To be considered for the Sr. Electrical Design Engineering Manager role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Firmware or Computer Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant technical experience, designing and/or managing or testing electronic controller units (ECU’s), board assemblies with a preferential focus on high voltage motor controllers
- 3 years of leading technical projects or technical initiatives
- Proven track record managing and leading engineering teams to success
- Self-motivated, with strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Experience interfacing with customers
- Proficient communication skills, both in writing technical documentation and in public speaking presentations
- Familiarity and working knowledge of key software tools such as Cadence, Teamcenter and PSpice.
- Ability to work onsite in Elma, NY (remote candidates will not be considered)
- The position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance
- Anticipated travel up to 5%
- Lead and mentor a team of 6-10 electrical engineers, fostering growth and collaboration
- Collaborate across multiple engineering and operating groups
- Provide personal development for direct reports by conducting performance reviews, training, mentoring, and monitoring career development
- Assign programs and projects to direct reports in a timely manner and monitor these tasks so they are completed within technical, cost, and schedule constraints
- Champion continuous improvement in the design and development processes
- Provide expert technical guidance and support to your team
- Act as a key contributor during design reviews, validating adherence to internal standards
- Execute the detailed design and analyses for products, including conceptual layout and design, dynamic performance modelling, thermal analysis, and structural analysis.

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
