The Simulation Center of Competence (CoC) at Polaris Bengaluru plays a critical role in driving virtual product development, ensuring that Polaris vehicles meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, safety, and refinement.
As part of the Durability Team, you will be responsible for simulating real-world usage scenarios to evaluate and enhance the long-term durability of vehicle structures. This role focuses on identifying and mitigating structural risks early in the development cycle, reducing dependence on physical prototypes.
As a Senior Durability Engineer, you will lead end-to-end durability simulations, including virtual model building which should correlate with physical model. RLDA (Road Load Data Analysis), fatigue life prediction, and CAE-test correlation. You will utilize advanced simulation tools to deliver high-fidelity models & results.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strong experience in FE modeling at component, subsystem, and full-vehicle levels
Support full vehicle durability integration for both on-road and off-road (terrain) vehicles
Expertise in FE model integration and contact setup at the full-vehicle level
Perform simulations in ANSYS, including static, modal, transient, and nonlinear analyses
Correlate of CAE results with physical test data
Process RLDA data and convert it into simulation-ready formats for fatigue evaluation
Develop advanced workflows in nCode, GlyphWorks and perform fatigue analysis
Develop and implement automation workflows using Python or similar scripting tools
Explore and apply AI/ML techniques to enhance simulation capabilities
Manage project deliverables while ensuring effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
B.E/B. Tech preferably in Mechanical, Automotive, or Aerospace Engineering is required.
Minimum 6-10 years of experience required in the relevant field.
Strong knowledge of durability FE modeling and life calculations
Experience with implicit & explicit solvers and optimization solvers in CAE
Experience with scripting languages such as Python and TCL/TK
Experience in durability simulations for metals, plastics, and composite materials
Exposure to AI/ML applications in CAE simulations
