The Role:

The Senior Director, Talent Management will be responsible for developing, leading, and executing the strategic vision and systems that will be required for the ongoing growth and performance of Ora employees. This individual will collaborate with several key stakeholders in the business to continuously deliver core people services and programs that enable talent development and engagement, always seeking to further develop these as we seek to leverage scale.  This includes succession planning and enhancing internal mobility drivers, building competency rubrics, management of our annual review process, developing employee lifecycle pathways, creating value recognition programs, and more.

As a leader within our People & Culture team, this person will provide strategy, design, and subject matter expertise to the organization on talent management, leadership, performance, and colleague experience drivers, ensuring alignment between people and business strategies. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying and addressing skills gaps, implementing retention strategies, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the organization.

The right candidate for the role will be focused on implementation, program and process effectiveness through KPI monitoring and feedback, as well as enabling other parts of People & Culture to effectively deliver talent programs/processes.

This position is remote and will report to the Chief People Officer.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and project manage large-scale and complex talent management programs and processes, customize existing resources, develop new solutions, and work in an agile manner.
  • Develop and launch competency frameworks and career progression plans for key positions within the organization.
  • Manage the annual performance evaluation process to ensure its effectiveness and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Elevate talent maturity through succession planning and strengthening internal mobility initiatives. 
  • Create and lead a recognition program that is closely linked to the organization’s core values. 
  • Establish defined success metrics and review processes to enhance and refine programs as needed. 
  • Drive for enterprise-wide standardization of talent management programs, while allowing for region/business-specific nuances where necessary.
  • Ensure all talent management programs and initiatives are aligned to agreed relevant schedule, budget, and objectives.
  • Enhance the onboarding process to ensure a seamless and positive experience for new employees, leading to increased engagement and retention. 
  • Ensure effective communication and implementation of programs and initiatives, leveraging technology for scalability and accessibility.
  • Adhere to all aspects of Ora’s quality system. 
  • Adhere to all essential systems and processes that are required at Ora to maintain compliance to Ora’s data integrity & business ethics and regulatory requirements. 
  • Clear and sustained demonstration of Ora’s values -- prioritizing kindness, operational excellence, cultivating joy and scientific rigor – as well as their linked behaviors.

What We Look For:

  • Experience needed for the Role:
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field. MA or MBA preferred.
    • 10+ years of experience in talent management and performance management.
  • Additional Skills and Attributes:
    • Research or professional services experience preferred.
    • Creatively uses available resources, tools and technology to get consistently high-quality results.
    • Ability to take initiative, problem solve and work independently.
    • Experience designing, developing and supporting organization-wide talent management programs that cover performance management, talent development, coaching, succession planning, data analytics and relationship management.
    • Previous experience in capturing metrics and producing various employment reports.
    • Strong team player, collaborative and able to build an effective team.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, able to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
    • Accountable, dependable and strong commitment to quality of work.
    • Detail oriented with comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Benefit Eligibility: Full-time employees of Ora working a minimum of 30 hours per week. Our per diem workforce is eligible for Medical and Dental coverage once they have hit 6 months of service and work an average of 30 hours per week.
