Boll & Branch is seeking a Sr. Director of Sourcing and Production to lead our Sourcing and Production team and initiatives. Reporting to the SVP, Product Creation, this high-impact leadership role is integral to building out and scaling our sustainable and ethical global sourcing and production strategies. This function maintains a strong influence across the organization by driving profitable growth, leading sourcing and production strategies and operations, and bringing best-in-class, highest quality products to the market.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee global sourcing and production strategies to drive product, business, and growth initiatives.
  • Lead strategies and execution for supplier identification, selection, vetting, on-boarding and allocation to align with company values and business needs. 
  • Evaluate new and existing vendor partners and conduct competitive analysis for speed-to-market, sustainability, certifications, capabilities, capacity, MOQ, cost optimization and other relevant considerations.
  • Optimize efficiencies through diversification of the global sourcing supply chain. Create contingency plans for optimum business.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and product teams to establish both short-term and long-term sourcing and production objectives and effectively drive implementation/ execution.
  • Drive cost negotiation and partner with cross-functional leadership to achieve gross margin targets; plan and negotiate production capacity with suppliers.
  • Champion process improvements at all steps of product life cycle. Lead initiatives and optimization of tools to achieve and exceed business needs.
  • Develop and nurture excellent partner relationships with global vendor partners. Track and share performance metrics to continually build and maintain excellent business partnerships.
  • Create and align across product teams’ effective travel strategy and implementation to support product initiatives (trade-shows, markets, development, sourcing travel)
  • Perform macroeconomic analyses and identify, leverage and share key metrics and trends impacting sourcing and supply chain performance.
  • Lead team by mentoring, managing and supporting excellence and career development. Cultivate a culture of curiosity, innovation, excellence and growth.
  • Build synergies and strong partnerships cross-functionally and within internal teams to continually support innovation and alignment around shared goals.
  • Collaborate with Design, PD and Merchandising teams to execute and communicate manufacturing strategies that ensure product needs and business objectives.
  • Excel at project management and perform astute decision making within an environment of complex and expanding product initiatives and overlapping seasonal milestones.
  • Drive and maintain excellent quality control across all products.

Qualifications:

  • 10-15+ years deep leadership experience and expertise in sourcing and production in the home industry.
  • Strong home textiles background and technical expertise in raw materials and manufacturing across product categories.
  • Outstanding communicator with the ability to build and cultivate effective partnerships within and outside of organizations.
  • Dynamic and inspirational team leader with a track record of bringing teams together around shared initiatives to achieve outstanding results.
  • Entrepreneurial thinker and active problem solver. Leads with curiosity and a growth mindset.
  • Broad knowledge in sustainable sourcing practices and certifications. Desire to make an ethical impact.
  • Expertise in capacity planning, cost negotiation, production tracking, analytics and speed to market.
  • Expertise in global markets including core capabilities, raw materials, cost structures, and manufacturing.
  • Strong professional network and knowledge of global suppliers in relevant markets.
  • Must be proficient with systems and technology, including Netsuite and Centric PLM.
  • Expert in quality control.
  • Ability to travel internationally.

This primary location for this role is Summit, NJ. We believe our business and our culture are strongest when we work together in person. We also know that it’s helpful to have flexibility to work remotely. Currently we are operating under a hybrid model whereby all teams work in an office a minimum of two days per week (Tuesdays/Thursdays) and may be provided flexibility to work from home on other days. There may be times when you’re asked to work in our New York City office because it’s in the best interest of our business or your team.

The annual base salary range for this role is $160,000 to $225,000. New hires are typically brought into the organization between the minimum to midpoint of the salary range posted depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. It is important to note that our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size, industry, and the market and are one part of the total rewards that we provide. Individual pay rate decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, scope of the role, and internal peer benchmarking. In addition to your base compensation, you may be eligible to be part of the Company’s annual bonus program with a non-binding Company and individual performance-based target bonus.
