Job Description:

Alation helps enterprises harness data and AI with trust and intelligence. As the Sr. Director, Regional Marketing, you’ll lead a global team driving pipeline impact through regional strategies that amplify Alation’s data intelligence and AI product story.
This role blends global consistency with local market creativity, connecting regional execution directly to Alation’s mission: enabling organizations to use trusted data to power responsible AI. One more thing… We work in a hybrid model—you’ll join us in our Redwood City office to collaborate, connect, and enjoy a team atmosphere!

Lead with Purpose and Precision

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a global team of five Senior Regional Marketing Managers across AMER, EMEA, and APAC.

  • Build a culture that reflects Alation’s values: Raise the Bar, Move with Urgency, Win Through Results, Build Exceptional Teams, and Act Like the Owner You Are.

  • Set the vision, operating model, and performance bar for global regional and performance marketing.

  • Translate global go-to-market strategy into regional execution that fuels predictable, scalable pipeline growth.

  • Act as the senior bridge between regional marketing, corporate marketing, and sales leadership to ensure unified direction and execution excellence.
     

Drive Global Campaigns that Accelerate AI and Data Adoption

  • Own the global integrated campaign strategy, from concept through execution, optimization, and scale.

  • Define how field, ABM, demand, and performance marketing programs work together to drive pipeline creation, acceleration, and efficiency.

  • Partner with Product Marketing to shape campaign narratives around data intelligence, governance, AI-readiness, and AI agents.

  • Lead a performance-driven marketing model, optimizing paid, digital, ABM, events, and partner channels to maximize conversion, velocity, and ROI.

  • Hold direct accountability for global campaign and channel performance, ensuring disciplined execution with room for regional optimization.
     

Enable Regional Excellence Through Partnership and Innovation

  • Translate global GTM and campaign strategy into regionally relevant programs aligned to market maturity and buying behavior.

  • Own senior-level alignment with regional Sales leadership, ensuring shared accountability for pipeline creation and acceleration.

  • Establish global frameworks for joint planning, territory strategy, and campaign follow-through.

  • Partner with ecosystem and cloud providers (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS) to co-market data and AI solutions that extend Alation’s reach and relevance.

  • Foster a high-performing, insight-driven marketing culture that thrives on experimentation and accountability.
     

Measure What Matters

  • Define and own global success metrics across SQL, SAL, pipeline contribution, velocity, CAC efficiency, and ROI.

  • Partner with Marketing Operations to drive advanced attribution, funnel analysis, and performance reporting.

  • Use performance data to continuously refine channel mix, regional investment strategy, and campaign prioritization.
     

Own the Business, Not Just the Budget

  • Manage the global regional marketing budget, optimizing OPEX and MDF for maximum pipeline return.

  • Forecast and report spend efficiency and ROI transparently, acting as a data-driven steward of growth investments.

  • Model Alation’s ownership mindset—balancing strategic impact with operational discipline.
     

Collaborate to Win

  • Build strong partnerships with regional sales and customer success leaders, driving shared accountability for pipeline and revenue.

  • Establish global frameworks for joint planning, alignment sessions, and executive visibility into marketing impact.

  • Serve as a trusted partner to GTM and Product leadership, ensuring marketing execution supports Alation’s broader AI and data intelligence strategy.
     

What You Bring

  • 12+ years of B2B marketing experience, with at least 5 years leading global or regional teams.

  • Proven success leading field, demand generation, and ABM programs that deliver measurable pipeline and revenue growth.

  • Deep understanding of marketing in enterprise SaaS, preferably within data, analytics, or AI domains.

  • Demonstrated success partnering with Sales and cross-functional teams across regions.

  • Data-driven mindset—comfortable using Salesforce, Marketo, and attribution tools to drive decisions.

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a high-growth, matrixed environment and to operate with urgency, accountability, and creativity.

  • Willingness to travel up to 5%.

Compensation Pay Range:

$205,064.00 - $276,837.00

Salary Information

The base salary range is specific to the United States.  The salary of the final candidate selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, work location, specialty and training.  If the final candidate has a different level of experience, the base salary target range may be lower or higher than what is published.
