Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Director of Project Management Office (PMO) and Business Transformation to lead, optimize, and oversee strategic initiatives across GrubHub. This role is critical in driving both project execution and continuous process improvement across the organization. As a leader within the Strategic Development team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of high-impact projects, streamlining processes, and fostering innovation to support GrubHub's long-term strategic goals. This position demands a strategic thinker with a strong ability to execute, forge cross-functional relationships, and improve operational efficiencies at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
PMO Leadership:

  • Establish and Lead the PMO : Build, develop, and manage the company's Project Management Office, overseeing a portfolio of strategic initiatives that drive business growth and innovation.
  • Strategic Project Execution : Ensure alignment of all projects with the company's strategic priorities, managing the end-to-end project lifecycle from initiation to completion.
  • Cross-functional Leadership : Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders across departments (including Product and Engineering, Operations, Marketing, and Finance) to ensure successful project delivery.


Business Transformation / Process Improvement:

  • Drive Operational Efficiency : Identify, assess, and implement process improvements that streamline operations, enhance customer experience, and drive overall business performance.
  • Standardization : Implement and enforce standardized processes, tools, and templates across departments to ensure consistency, reduce complexity, and increase speed.


Portfolio & Resource Management:

  • Manage the Strategic Project Portfolio : Oversee a comprehensive portfolio of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and with high-quality outcomes.
  • Optimize Resource Allocation : Balance resources across multiple projects, ensuring appropriate staffing, skills, and expertise to meet business needs.
  • Performance Metrics : Establish and track KPIs, ensuring that projects and process improvements meet key business objectives and provide measurable value.


Leadership & Stakeholder Communication:

  • Executive Reporting : Provide regular updates to the executive team on project status, risks, resource allocation, and process improvement results, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Team Development : Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of project managers and process improvement specialists, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.


What You Bring to the Table/Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in project management, process improvement, or operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Experience in food delivery, technology, or e-commerce sectors is highly preferred.
  • Proven success leading complex, cross-functional projects and implementing large-scale process improvement initiatives.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop, and lead high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities, with experience influencing and aligning executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical and data-driven mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, or similar certification is highly desirable.


The base salary ranges for this position are below. The ranges provided exclude other forms of compensation such as equity and bonus.
Illinois: $160,000 - $240,000 base salary range
Grubhub uses geographic-specific salary structures, which means the salary offered may vary depending on where the job is located. The final salary offer will take into account various factors, such as the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience. In addition to the base salary, the role might also come with equity and other pay incentives as part of the full compensation package.
