The Role

Job Title: Sr Dir Operations Excellence  

 

Job Summary  

This position is responsible for the enterprise level strategic identification, evaluation and execution of operational and process improvements that produce efficiency and cost savings for the organizationThis role is responsible for working across the entire enterprise, with key stakeholders to review and evaluate end to end processes and operational practices for optimization and valueThis role seeks to uncover, understand and standardize non-standard practices that help further optimize but then also introduce the opportunity to continually improve and sustainable future performance.   

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Work as a steward of NiSource and of its customers – extracting waste in processes and operational practices the increase cost, decrease efficiency and customer satisfaction  

  • Work with operations, business planning, finance and the strategic planning team to develop material targets of opportunity for operational excellence on an annual basis  

  • Identify NiSource practices and processes that can benefit from being more standardized, predictable and scalable within that strategy  

  • Build and lead a team of subject matter experts based on identified areas of focus teach them continuous improvement tools to lean out and standardize processes unlocking efficiency and financial value for the company 

  • Build and drive a detailed project plan that is embedded in company financial assumptions making material commitments to savings  

  • Drive accountability with the team and key stakeholders to implement continuous improvement / standard practices and processes, with a change management lens for optimum adoption 

  • Develop measures of success that will be monitored to assure maximum benefit to NiSource, and potentially identify additional areas of refinement and continuous improvement  

  • Monitor the organization for pinch points, bottle necks and customer impacts to consider processes that may avail themselves for review and standardization/improvement 

  • Other duties as assigned  

 

Required Qualifications for Position  

Qualifications include: 

  • Bachelor's degree, 5 years or more of comparable experience  

  • 8-10 years of area of expertise experience   

  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions based on information available  

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills  

  • Aptitude for attention to detail, accuracy, precision, and logic  

  • Capability to efficiently perform duties under stringent deadlines  

  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite   

 

Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position  

  • 5+ years of Utility or Corporate Services experience  

  • Experience with Project Management or large-scale organizing and planning  

  • Experience or certification in Lean Six Sigma/Process Improvement methodologies a plus

Salary Range*:

$186,600.00 - $279,900.00

*The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity.
