How you'll make an impact:
- You will develop and implement strategies to attract new users organically through word-of-mouth, viral engagement loops, and social sharing mechanisms. Optimize referral programs, social sharing incentives, and invite mechanics to increase app downloads and organic adoption. Improve virality metrics (K-Factor, referral conversion rates).
- You will leverage influencer, content creator, and brand ambassador programs to drive awareness and first-time downloads.
- You will work closely with Product, Performance Marketing, Design, and Analytics teams to ensure acquisition strategies align with user behaviors, optimize onboarding flows, create engaging first-time user experiences, and drive feature adoption.
- You will design and refine the user onboarding process to ensure new users quickly understand and find value in the product. Develop onboarding messaging and engagement campaigns to encourage early user interactions and drive retention.
- You will use data and experimentation to test and optimize activation strategies and improve activation rates (profile completion, first messages, engagement in social/community-driven features).
- You will develop and execute re-engagement campaigns using push notifications, email marketing, and in-app content. Improve retention and engagement metrics. Develop strategies to keep users engaged and returning to the app and reduce onboarding drop-off rates.
- You will analyze user behavior data to identify churn risks and implement solutions. Work with Product teams to identify feature updates and optimizations that enhance retention. Improve LTV (Lifetime Value) and reduce churn.
- You will increase Monthly Active Users (MAU) and Daily Active Users (DAU), and optimize conversion rates across the user journey (signup → activation → retention).
- You will ensure all growth initiatives reflect BLK’s values, mission, and cultural identity. Develop culturally relevant campaigns and initiatives that resonate with BLK’s audience. Maintain high brand sentiment and cultural relevance. Ensure brand consistency across all marketing and product touchpoints.
- You will partner with senior stakeholders to define needs, with the opportunity to build and scale a high-performing team aligned to brand objectives. Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management for cross-functional initiatives, with the potential to directly oversee junior team members as the brand grows.
- You will establish feedback loops to gather user insights and integrate them into product development and marketing strategies.

- You have 7+ years of experience in growth marketing, product marketing, or community activation in a consumer tech or social app.
- You have a strong understanding of viral growth mechanics, referral loops, and organic acquisition strategies.
- You have proven experience in user acquisition, onboarding optimization, and retention strategies.
- You have a deep knowledge of Black culture, digital trends, and social media behaviors that influence organic growth.
- You have strong brand marketing experience, with the ability to own and protect brand voice, positioning, and messaging.
- You have strong analytical and experimentation skills to optimize marketing initiatives.
- You are highly adaptable and comfortable navigating rapid product and marketing testing cycles.
