You'll own how Altera reaches the tens of thousands of customers that direct sales can't cover. You set the outbound strategy and lead the outbound marketing team in carrying it out. The goal is to grow the customer base from about 15,000 to 20,000+.
Strategic responsibilities
- Outbound strategy: Decide which customers, segments and regions to target, and how to split investment across channel, ecosystem, partners, brand and field.
- Growth engines: Build channel and ecosystem into growth engines, each with its own mandate.
- Distribution: Own the executive relationship with distributors and set direction for joint marketing plans.
- Technology partner campaigns: Lead joint campaigns with key CPU, memory, AI/software, EDA, OS and cloud partners to reach new markets and customers. Act as executive sponsor for those partnerships.
- AI design flow: Make Altera's AI-assisted tools a reason to choose Altera, for both new and existing FPGA users.
- Market voice: Set brand direction and the company narrative, and make sure flagship events land strategically.
- Investment: Decide where dollars, headcount and co-marketing funds go, and shift them based on results.
- Alignment: Partner with product, vertical marketing and planning leaders so Altera goes to market with one voice.
Team leadership
- Build and lead a high-performing outbound marketing team. Set outcomes and hold people accountable.
- Hire owners, not producers, with AI handling most production work.
- Keep the team working as one go-to-market motion.
- Develop leaders and plan succession.
Success looks like
- Customer base growing toward 20,000+
- Channel and ecosystem recognized as real growth engines
- Partner campaigns bringing in customers Altera can't reach alone
- AI design flow seen as a reason to choose Altera
- Outbound marketing seen by leadership as a strategic investment
