The Opportunity: We're hiring a Senior Director of FP&A to lead Syncro's planning, forecasting, operating model, and financial reporting as we scale. Reporting to the CFO, you'll own the numbers that drive executive, board, and investor decision-making, and partner with functional leaders to manage spend, headcount, and the strategic initiatives that shape our growth.

This is a high-ownership role for someone who has operated in a fast-moving, PE- or VC-backed SaaS environment and wants to put their fingerprints on how a finance function scales. Experience supporting an exit process (sale, recapitalization, or IPO readiness) at a sponsor-backed company is a significant plus.

This role is fully remote and reports to the CFO.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • End-to-end planning: Own the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting cycles, ensuring tight integration between actuals and projections and a single, trusted view of the plan.
  • Operating model: Build and evolve a driver-based operating model that reflects real business logic and scales with company growth.
  • Financial reporting & KPIs: Prepare accurate, timely financial reporting and KPI dashboards for leadership, the board, and our PE sponsor, including compliance and lender reporting.
  • Business partnering: Act as financial advisor to department heads, delivering the qualitative and quantitative story behind actuals-vs-budget variances and helping them manage expense and headcount.
  • Strategic & exit support: Support board and investor materials, fundraising or exit processes, and the financial analysis behind strategic decisions, while partnering with the CFO on diligence readiness, data rooms, and value-creation tracking.
  • FP&A tools & automation: Serve as primary administrator of our planning tool, driving automation and integration to minimize manual data manipulation.
  • Data integrity: Partner with Data Engineering and Analytics to maintain a single source of truth for financial and non-financial KPIs.
  • Ad-hoc analysis: Lead high-impact analyses that influence long-term outcomes: gross margin drivers, unit economics (CAC, LTV, payback), pricing, and headcount/investment ROI.

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or strategic finance, ideally at high-growth SaaS companies. Familiarity with SaaS metrics (ARR/MRR, net revenue retention, CAC, LTV, the Rule of 40) is required.
  • Experience at a PE- or VC-backed company is strongly preferred; direct experience supporting an exit process (sale, recap, or IPO readiness) is a significant plus.
  • Expert in Excel and driver-based modeling; comfortable owning complex models and large datasets.
  • Familiarity with accounting systems, planning tools, and BI tools (e.g., NetSuite, Mosaic/HiBob, Power BI).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable insight.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication. You can make complex financial concepts simple for stakeholders at every level, including executives and the board.
  • High ownership and the ability to work autonomously in a 100% remote environment; you take initiative when you see work that needs doing.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at once.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across the organization.

Interview Process: At Syncro we believe in transparency and providing candidates with as much information as possible so you can make an informed decision during your job search. Below are the steps of the interview process you can expect:

  • Initial Zoom call with HR: 30 min
  • Hiring manager interview: 45 min
  • Technical screen: 30 min
  • Team panel interview: 45 min

We value the opportunity to meet our potential team members face-to-face; therefore, a live, in-person interview is a required final step before an offer is extended. Please note that this will include travel at Syncro's expense to do so.  To ensure the integrity of our team, all successful candidates will also undergo a thorough background and identity screening during the onboarding process.

AI Usage Policy for Interviews:

We encourage candidates to use AI tools to help prepare for interviews, whether that means practicing responses, researching our company, or refining your resume. That said, during live interviews, we expect all answers and interactions to come directly from you without real-time help from AI or other tools. We are not looking for perfect answers. We are looking for honest insights, real experiences, and genuine communication so we can fairly and accurately get to know you.
