Job Overview
The Senior Director of FP&A for T-Ads serves as the functional CFO and chief financial partner to T-Mobile's advertising business, providing strategic leadership across revenue forecasting, P&L management, investment prioritization, integration planning, and long-range financial strategy. This leader supports a global advertising portfolio spanning Legacy T-Ads, Vistar, and Blis, with financial responsibility across more than 20 countries.
This leader drives high-quality financial insights, strengthens operating discipline, and guides the business through complex decisions across product innovation, monetization strategy, geographic expansion, resource allocation, and M&A integration. The role leads a finance team of approximately 15-20 professionals and partners closely with senior leaders across T-Ads, Growth & Emerging Businesses, FP&A, Corporate Development, Sales, Product, Engineering, Media, and Marketing.

Un-carrier® Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Financial Planning

  • Lead end-to-end financial planning cycles for T-Ads, including revenue forecasts, operating expense plans, long-range plans, QBRs, MBRs, and executive business reviews.
  • Serve as the senior Finance thought partner to the SVP of T-Ads and leadership across Growth & Emerging Businesses, translating business strategy into clear financial plans, trade-offs, and outcomes.
  • Oversee the consolidated P&L across Legacy T-Ads, Vistar, and Blis, including revenue, media, marketing, product, engineering, sales commissions, headcount, and other operating expenses.

P&L Ownership, Revenue Growth & Resource Allocation

  • Guide decisions that impact revenue growth, profitability, investment pacing, market prioritization, and operational execution for T-Ads.
  • Partner with Sales, Product, Engineering, Media, and Marketing leaders to identify, size, and prioritize the highest-return growth opportunities across the advertising portfolio.
  • Evaluate investment trade-offs across product development, sales coverage, engineering capacity, media costs, marketing, commissions, and geographic expansion.
  • Drive cost efficiency, margin discipline, and resource allocation rigor while enabling the business to pursue strategic growth opportunities.

Integration, Global Expansion & Business Transformation

  • Lead Finance integration across Legacy T-Ads, Vistar, and Blis, aligning teams, financial processes, planning discipline, reporting, controls, and investment priorities into a cohesive operating model.
  • Support decisions to enter, continue investing in, optimize, or sunset international markets through financial modeling, scenario planning, and market-level performance assessment.
  • Build scalable financial governance and operating mechanisms to support a global advertising platform operating across more than 20 countries.
  • Partner cross-functionally with business leaders and enabling functions to ensure integration execution, operating discipline, and value creation.

M&A Finance & Transaction Support

  • Lead M&A Finance support Companywide, partnering with Corporate Development to evaluate prospective transactions, coordinate valuations, and assess financial attractiveness.
  • Validate deal economics, synergy assumptions, integration costs, financial risks, and alignment to long-range plan assumptions and TMUS investment criteria.
  • Establish financial governance for integration planning, synergy tracking, and post-close accountability.

Advanced Analytics & Decision Support

  • Lead scenario modeling, sensitivity analysis, and business case development for new advertising products, market expansion, monetization opportunities, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Deliver recurring insights to senior leadership on revenue trends, profitability, investment returns, market performance, and operating risks and opportunities.
  • Translate complex financial analysis into concise, executive-ready narratives and recommendations that enable timely, data-driven decisions.

Operational Reporting & Controls

  • Strengthen management reporting, dashboards, and scorecards that provide transparency into T-Ads performance and enable disciplined operating reviews.
  • Maintain a robust financial controls framework across forecasting, spend management, headcount planning, commissions, capitalization, and operating expenses.
  • Drive continuous improvement in forecast accuracy, data quality, reporting efficiency, and planning discipline across the combined T-Ads finance organization.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a Finance team of approximately 15-20 professionals
  • Build a culture of accountability, curiosity, analytical rigor, and partnership, empowering the team to deliver impactful insights and become trusted advisors to the business.
  • Partner with HR and FP&A leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, career development, and talent strategy.

The Experience You’ll Bring

  • 15+ years of progressive finance experience, including FP&A leadership roles supporting large, complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Experience supporting high-growth businesses with end-to-end P&L ownership, significant revenue accountability, and multi-function cost management.
  • Strong understanding of digital advertising, media, technology, marketplace, platform, SaaS, or related business models preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives, lead cross-functional decision-making, and operate as a strategic business partner.
  • Experience with M&A finance, deal valuation, integration planning, synergy tracking, and post-close financial governance preferred.
  • Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, long-range planning, ROI analysis, business case development, and executive storytelling.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and highly matrixed environment.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to simplify complexity, frame trade-offs, and drive clarity in decision-making.

Base Pay Range: $197,500 - $267,300

Corporate Bonus Target: 35%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as qualifications and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
