Position Summary:

Samyang America is building a next-generation Strategy & Growth Engine to accelerate growth across brands, categories, and innovation platforms. This organization integrates portfolio strategy, consumer intelligence, product innovation, and enterprise data systems to enable faster, smarter, and more confident decision-making. At the core of this transformation is a modern data and analytics infrastructure that connects insights to action across the business.

The Senior Director, Enterprise Data & Analytics Platform, will lead the design and implementation of Samyang America’s enterprise data ecosystem, including the development of a scalable data lake, analytics platforms, and AI-enabled decision systems.

This role is a business-critical leadership role responsible for modernizing SYA’s current data and operational processes into a unified, high-value asset that powers strategy, innovation, and commercial execution.

The Senior Director will lead internal and external teams, including a data architecture and engineering group as well as an analytics and AI solution development group, while partnering closely with Strategy, Marketing, R&D, Finance, and Sales leaders and other SYA functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Enterprise Data Strategy & Architecture

  • Define and execute the roadmap for Samyang’s enterprise data ecosystem, including data lake architecture, integration layers, and governance frameworks.

  • Establish scalable systems that integrate internal (ERP, sales, marketing, finance, EDI) and external (market, consumer, syndicated) data sources.

  • Ensure data is structured for accessibility, usability, and long-term scalability across the organization.

Data Lake & Infrastructure Build

  • Lead the implementation of a cloud-based data lake and modern data platform in partnership with external vendors.

  • Oversee data ingestion, transformation, storage, and access layers to support real-time and batch analytics.

  • Ensure reliability, security, performance, and scalability of the data environment.

Analytics, BI & AI Enablement

  • Build and lead the development of analytics and AI-driven solutions that support business decision-making across functions.

  • Oversee the creation of automated dashboards and reporting systems for:

    • Sales performance

    • Marketing effectiveness

    • Consumer/Customer Experience

    • Financial performance

    • Innovation pipeline tracking

    • Executive decision-making

  • Drive adoption of predictive analytics, machine learning, and AI-enabled tools to move beyond descriptive reporting.

Business Partnership & Decision Enablement

  • Partner with senior leaders across Strategy, Marketing, R&D, Finance, and Sales to identify high-impact use cases for data and analytics.

  • Translate business needs into scalable data and analytics solutions.

  • Enable a shift from reactive reporting to proactive, insight-driven decision-making.

Data Governance & Quality

  • Establish enterprise standards for data governance, data quality, and data security.

  • Define ownership, access, and stewardship models across the organization.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy and regulatory requirements.

Team Leadership & Vendor Management

  • Build and lead a high-performing team across data architecture, engineering, and analytics.

  • Lead the data & analytics portfolio process.

  • Manage external vendors and development partners to ensure delivery against roadmap, budget, and quality expectations.

  • Develop internal capabilities while balancing external partnerships for speed and scale.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience in data, analytics, and technology leadership roles.

  • Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise data platforms or data lakes.

  • Strong understanding of data architecture, data engineering, and cloud-based systems (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Leadership experience managing analytic teams and analytics and AI platforms.

  • Experience leading cross-functional data & analytics initiatives that drive business impact and decision-making.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage both technical teams and external vendors

Preferred:

  • Experience in consumer goods, retail, or data-rich commercial environments.

  • Experience building or scaling analytics and AI capabilities within an organization.

  • Familiarity with tools such as Snowflake, Databricks, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.

  • Experience integrating ERP, CRM, EDI and marketing technology systems into unified data environments.

  • MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field.

Leadership Attributes:

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Enterprise mindset – sees data as a strategic asset, not just a technical function

  • Builder mentality – able to create systems and teams from the ground up

  • Business orientation – focuses on outcomes, not just infrastructure

  • Technical credibility – can engage deeply with architecture and engineering teams

  • Execution discipline – delivers complex, multi-phase programs with rigor

The base salary for this position is between $180,000.00 and $200,000.00 per year. Actual compensation will depend on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience, and location.
