Position Overview

The Senior Director, Corporate Partnerships and Foundations is responsible for cultivating and managing transformational relationships with corporate and foundation partners as part of the City Year Seattle/King County Development team responsible for raising 1.9 M annually. Daily, the Sr. Director will lead corporate and foundation fundraising strategy*, steward a portfolio of existing partners, cultivate new prospects, ensure accurate pipeline tracking, and collaborate across teams to deliver meaningful donor engagement experiences.

•3 years of experience of relationship management experience such as fundraising, corporate partnerships, business development, etc.
•Authorized documentation to work in the United States of America
•Criminal background history clearance to work with school-age children, depending on the position
Responsibilities

The Senior Director, Corporate Partnerships and Foundations will perform the following roles and responsibilities:

Corporate Donor Engagement & Stewardship
•Develop and implement an annual corporate fundraising strategy to raise $1.25M
•Manage a portfolio of 75 local corporate and corporate foundation partners; steward national corporate partnerships locally in collaboration with the National Development team.
•Steward and grow structured corporate partnership investments, including Team Sponsors at the $100,000+ level, ensuring strong alignment with enterprise strategy and local execution.
•Deliver exceptional stewardship through personalized communication, timely impact reporting, and tailored engagement.
•Lead and coordinate site & school visits, events, volunteer opportunities, and activations that deepen relationships and showcase impact.
•Secure renewed and increased commitments by aligning opportunities with partners’ business, CSR, and community engagement goals.
•Represent City Year at external and partner events to cultivate new relationships and strengthen existing ones.
•Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of corporate gifts and engagement using City Year’s Salesforce CRM.

Prospecting & Proposal Development
•Expand the donor base by identifying, qualifying, and cultivating new corporate prospects.
•Analyze giving trends and portfolio data to identify growth opportunities.
•Create and adapt sponsorship and partnership opportunities that align with the site’s program and goals.
•Write compelling sponsorship proposals, pitch decks, letters, and impact reports for current and prospective partners.

Collaboration & Learning

•Collaborate effectively with teammates and national Development community to achieve shared goals and foster an inclusive environment.
•Partner closely with Impact staff and AmeriCorps members to connect fundraising efforts with program priorities and elevate the authentic impact of City Year’s work.
•Role model a growth mindset and commitment to City Year’s culture and values as a leader within a youth-serving organization.
•Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the direct supervisor to advance City Year’s mission.

Preferred Qualifications
•Proven track record of securing significant gifts or managing complex external relationships
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including persuasive writing and presentations tailored to external partners (e.g., donors, funders, or senior stakeholders)
•Proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite
•City Year/AmeriCorps experience a plus
•Strong fundraisers come from many paths; we value transferable relationship-building experience and encourage candidates with varied backgrounds to apply.

Physical requirements
•Ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally stand or walk
•Manual dexterity for typing, writing, and handling office equipment
•Visual acuity to read screens and printed materials
•Hearing ability to participate in conversations and respond to phone calls
•Occasional lifting of items up to 10–20 lbs (e.g., event materials)

Working Conditions
•In Person/hybrid role with office in Georgetown
•Operates in a professional office environment using standard office equipment
•Requires regular local travel to partner sites, schools, events, or meetings
•Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, 9 am – 5 pm with occasional evening or weekend commitments

•Requires a valid driver’s license for travel as part of job duties.
•Must have reliable internet access for hybrid work
•Noise level generally moderate
