Job Summary

SHI, one of the world’s leading technology solution providers and America’s largest Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprise (MWBE), is looking for an experienced Senior Director/Vice President, Communications & Public Relations, responsible for shaping, articulating, and amplifying the company’s narrative across internal and external audiences. Sitting within the Marketing organization, this role ensures that the company’s story, its strategy, values, innovation, and customer impact are told clearly, consistently, and compellingly across internal communications, public relations, media relations, executive communications, and social media.
This senior leader will partner closely with executive leadership, brand, digital, and content teams to strengthen brand reputation, elevate leadership voices, and drive engagement through best-in-class storytelling.

Role Description

Communications Strategy & Storytelling

  • Define and lead an enterprise-wide communications strategy rooted in powerful, consistent storytelling.

  • Translate business strategy, innovation, and customer impact into clear narratives that resonate with employees, customers, partners, and media.

  • Ensure alignment across internal and external messaging, tone, and voice.

Internal Communications

  • Lead internal communications strategy to engage employees, reinforce culture, and support business transformation.

  • Partner with executive leadership and HR to deliver clear, motivating communications during change, growth, and key milestones.

  • Own internal channels, messaging cadence, and content standards to ensure clarity and relevance.

Public Relations & Media Relations

  • Develop and execute proactive PR strategies that strengthen brand visibility, credibility, and thought leadership.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media, industry analysts, and influencers.

  • Shape media narratives, manage story pipelines, and guide spokesperson preparation.

Executive Communications

  • Craft executive narratives, messaging, and content for internal forums, media engagements, speaking opportunities, and thought leadership.

  • Ensure executive voices are authentic, aligned, and consistently positioned against company priorities.

  • Prepare leaders for high-impact moments including press interviews, town halls, and public appearances.

Social Media & Digital Storytelling

  • Lead the company’s social media strategy with a focus on storytelling, leadership visibility, and brand engagement.

  • Oversee corporate and executive social presence to amplify key messages and narratives.

  • Monitor engagement, sentiment, and performance to continuously optimize messaging and channel mix.

Reputation & Narrative Stewardship

  • Act as guardian of the company’s brand narrative and reputation across all communications channels.

  • Provide strategic guidance on sensitive or high-visibility messaging in partnership with executive leadership and legal when needed.

  • Ensure message discipline, clarity, and consistency across the organization.

Team Leadership & Operations

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing communications and PR team.

  • Manage agency relationships, budgets, and operational planning.

  • Establish metrics to measure reach, engagement, sentiment, and narrative effectiveness.

Other Requirements

  • Completed Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field, or relevant work experience required

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in communications, PR, or corporate marketing.

  • Proven ability to lead enterprise-scale communications programs across internal communications, public relations, executive communications, and social media.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong editorial judgment and message discipline.

  • Ability to travel to SHI, Partner, and Customer Events

  • Ability to travel 25%

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in enterprise IT, B2B technology, SaaS, cloud, cybersecurity, or professional services.

  • Experience integrating communications strategy within a broader marketing and brand organization.

  • Deep understanding of modern media ecosystems and social platforms.

The estimated annual pay range for this position is $205,000-$235,000 which includes a base salary plus bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
