A Day in the Life:
The Sr. Director Process Engineering is responsible for setting strategic priorities for enterprise process engineering, aligning cross-functional leaders on transformation opportunities, and guiding teams through process redesign, standardization, and implementation. The role balances executive partnership with hands-on problem solving, using data, field insights, and operational expertise to remove bottlenecks, improve customer and employee experiences, and deliver measurable business results.
What You’ll Do:
- Build and lead the enterprise Process Engineering Center of Excellence, creating a sustainable capability for identifying, redesigning, standardizing, and continuously improving Hertz’s most critical operational processes.
- Set the enterprise process-engineering strategy and portfolio, directing resources toward the bottlenecks and opportunities with the greatest potential impact on DOE, NPS, employee satisfaction, productivity, and revenue.
- Oversee the development of future-state process architectures, engineering standards, labor models, capacity strategies, digital workflow requirements, and scalable operating solutions.
- Partner with executive leaders across Operations, Technology, Customer Experience, Finance, and Human Resources to integrate process engineering into major transformation programs and investment decisions.
- Build and develop a high-performing team of industrial engineers and process-improvement professionals, establishing a culture of technical rigor, field engagement, rapid experimentation, measurable results, and sustained process control.
What We’re Looking For :
- Bachelor's in business or engineering related field required, Degree in Industrial Engineering highly preferred
- 10+ years’ experience in process improvement highly preferred
- Blackbelt in Lean / Six Sigma a huge plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across multiple functions and locations to influence process improvement
- Proven experience building out a team of process engineers, leadership and mentorship
- Highly preferred to be hybrid in ATL but open to remote

Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in process improvement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across multiple functions and locations
- Experience building and leading a team of process engineers
- Leadership and mentorship experience
- Industrial Engineering degree
- Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt certification
