DIRECTV is seeking two highly skilled and experienced Sr. Directors of Marketing Advanced Analytics to lead our data-driven marketing efforts. The roles will be responsible for leveraging advanced analytics techniques to drive marketing strategy, optimize performance, and deliver actionable insights across the organization. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in data analysis, statistical modeling, and marketing analytics, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

Position 1 – Churn Insights:

  • This highly visible role will require someone who is comfortable living in the world between data and the business. Their team will analyze data, gather insights, and craft those churn insights into a well-polished executive friendly deck.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) including call/disconnect rates, downgrades, package mix, demographics etc., and other relevant metrics that drive churn to inform product management and marketing decisions.
  • Develop and deliver weekly churn insights reports to key stakeholders.
  • Oversee the design and execution of complex data analysis projects, including predictive modeling, segmentation, and customer lifetime value analysis.

Position 2 – Acquisition Insights:

  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) including sales, conversions, churn, and other relevant metrics to inform product management and marketing decisions.
  • Develop and deliver weekly sales headlines and insight reports to key stakeholders.
  • Oversee the design and execution of complex data analysis projects, including offers and performance analytics, emerging trends, campaign analysis, forecast modeling, and sales viewership analytics.

In both positions, here's what you’ll do:

  • Lead the development and implementation of advanced analytics strategies to support marketing initiatives and business objectives.
  • Present actionable insights and recommendations to empower cross-functional decision-makers and key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for data-driven improvements in marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Manage and mentor a team of data analysts and data scientists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in marketing analytics and data science.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to drive data-informed decision-making across the organization.

In both positions, what you’ll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field preferred; Master's degree a plus!
  • 7 – 10 years of experience in marketing analytics, data science, or related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL for database management and querying.
  • Advanced skills in statistical modeling and programming using R and/or Python.
  • Experience working with big data platforms such as Databricks and/or Snowflake.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools, particularly Tableau and/or PowerBI.
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles, customer behavior, and business strategy.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
  • Proven track record of leading and mentoring high-performing analytics teams.
  • Experience in developing and implementing data-driven marketing strategies that drive business growth.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership and drive organizational change through data-driven insights.
  • May require a background check due to job duties requiring routine access to DIRECTV and DIRECTV customer’s proprietary data. Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction will be considered for employment in accordance with local ordinances and state law.

The roles offer an exciting opportunity for a seasoned analytics professional to make a significant impact on our marketing strategy and overall business performance. These are remote positions that can be located anywhere in the United States, however Southern California location and ability to meet occasionally at DIRECTV offices in El Segundo is a plus. #LI-Remote

DIRECTV's compensation structure is designed to be market-competitive and fully supports efforts to attract and retain employees. It is the company's policy to offer pay that is competitive with other employers in the local market. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

The Base Salary range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for each of DIRECTV's 4 (four) US Labor Market Zones. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to this base salary, total compensation will include short-term incentives, long-term incentives, 401(k) match, and other elements.

DIRECTV WAGE ZONES: $154,850 - $281,060

Low (N1): $154,850 - $232,180

Mid (N2): $163,000 - $244,400

High (N3): $179,300 - $268,840

Top (N4): $187,450 - $281,060
