KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Architect, develop, and deliver fully automated multi-account global cloud infrastructure on AWS and other public clouds using repeatable methods and patterns
- Support continuous delivery pipelines for the deployment to all layers of our SDLC
- Conduct Infrastructure as Code reviews ensuring high programming standards
- Monitor and tune infrastructure performance
- Identify and correct performance bottlenecks, while working with Engineering on optimizations and best practices
- Develop and support observability, logging, and APM solutions to provide continuous monitoring capabilities, track all aspects of the system, infrastructure, performance, application errors, and roll up metrics
- Develop and improve automation to support environments in managed datacentres
- Provide mentorship and training to other team members on technologies and processes, drive education and knowledge transfer of design patterns, technical practices, and relevant technologies and tools
- Research and recommend new technologies and toolsets for the DevOps toolchain
- Troubleshoot issues in the application platform and perform root cause analysis.
- Fully participate in the ownership of your services and components, including on-call duties and incident response.
- Support cloud and data center operations: system provisioning, monitoring/alerting, network configuration, Windows, and Linux
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
- 5+ years experience with architecting, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems on a multi-account AWS platform
- 5+ years experience of software development and DevOps
- 5+ years experience with CI/CD practices and tools including GitLab, Ansible, AWS Code Deploy, Argo CD, and Jenkins
- 5+ years experience with automation programming in Python, PowerShell, or similar scripting language
- Extensive proven experience with AWS network and security implementations and management
- Proven experience with Kubernetes (self-managed, GKE, or AKS), ECS, or other container orchestration
- Extensive production experience with CloudFormation, Terraform, or Pulumi
- Advanced Windows and Linux experience related to administration, security, configuration, and monitoring
- Extensive experience with building and maintaining high-availability application architectures in datacentres or the public cloud
- Experience with observability tools such as ELK, New Relic, and Datadog
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, PostreSQL or MySQL
- Experience with all aspects of a datacentre-hosted production SaaS application, including networking, security, and Infrastructure as Code
- Additional experience with Azure or GCP is considered an asset
- Note: Incumbent will work regular business hours, but may require evenings and weekends to complete projects, respond to system alerts, or perform maintenance on systems.
