Job Responsibilities

  • AI Solution Implementation & Delivery
    • Develop, test, and deploy full‑stack AI applications using IBM watsonx and other AI/ML frameworks tailored to HR use cases (e.g., talent acquisition, employee experience & engagement, workforce analytics, learning & development, people operations, etc.).
    • Build and maintain agentic workflows and orchestration layers that connect HR platforms such as Workday and ServiceNow.
    • Implement APIs, microservices, and system integrations to ensure seamless connectivity across HR technologies.
    • Develop RAG pipelines, vector stores, and embedding workflows, including observability and debugging tools for LLM applications
    • Build backend and frontend components using Python, JavaScript/Node.js, and React as needed for AI-enabled applications.
  • Collaboration, Requirements Translation, & Execution
    • Identify and prioritize use cases that align with business goals for AI-driven transformation.
    • Collaborate with HR stakeholders to refine functional and technical requirements into build-ready specifications, use case definitions, and technical designs into working solutions.
    • Document technical designs, implementation details, code, configuration, and integration patterns for operational support and organizational knowledge sharing.
  • Model & System Operations
    • Monitor AI models for accuracy, reliability, performance, and potential bias. Support ongoing tuning and optimization.
    • Maintain code quality through testing, peer reviews, and adherence to development standards.
    • Troubleshoot production issues and ensure AI services operate reliably within the HR ecosystem.
  • Compliance, Security & Governance
    • Implement AI solutions in accordance with security, data privacy, fairness, and ethical AI guidelines.
    • Ensure integrations follow proper authentication standards (REST/SOAP, OAuth, etc.).
    • Monitor and evaluate AI models for bias, accuracy, and performance.
  • Collaboration & Thought Partnership
    • Work closely with engineering teams, HR process owners, HR technical teams, and enterprise IT partners to operationalize solutions.
    • Provide technical guidance to HR team members learning how to adopt and use AI tools responsibly.
    • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and trends with a focus on IBM watsonx and recommend innovative applications for HR, ensuring our HR function remains future-ready.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or related field.
  • Required Technical Expertise:
    • Proven track record of delivering AI solutions integrating AI capabilities with enterprise systems, preferably in HR or related domains, (e.g HRIS, CRM, ERP, case management).
    • Experience integrating AI capabilities with enterprise systems (e.g HCM, CRM, FIN ERP, LMS, case management, etc.).
    • Strong software engineering skills with Python, SQL, JavaScript (Node.js, React), and cloud-native development (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
    • Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn) and LLM platforms (IBM watsonx, OpenAI, etc.)
    • Experience with prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, agent memory, and MCP (model context protocol).
    • Building RAG pipelines, vector stores, embedding workflows, and observability/debugging tools.
    • Proficiency building secure REST and SOAP APIs and other system integration experience (OAuth, authentication, integration patterns, etc.).
    • Develop and optimize LLM-powered skills, prompt templates, retrieval chains, and agent memory systems.
    • Familiarity with RPA, workflow automation, orchestration tools.
    • Understanding of NLP pipelines, embeddings, vector DBs.
    • Strong understanding of API design, microservices architecture, and data engineering.
    • JSON, JavaScript/Node, Python, SQL/Presto, Bash/CLI, Dockerfile, JavaScript/TypeScript, JSX, React Hooks,  
    • Prompt engineering (prompt templates, fewshot examples)
    • Model invocation and tokenbudget control, index creation, upserts, and query tuning
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • HR domain knowledge and experience with enterprise SaaS platforms and integration landscapes (Workday, ServiceNow, LMS, etc.).
    • Building and maintaining agentic solutions using agentic frameworks (e.g.LangChain, LangGraph, ADK, MCP, CrewAI, etc.).
  • Soft Skills
    • Ability to convert conceptual requirements into practical technical solutions.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
    • Commitment to quality, maintainability, and ethical AI practices.

    As part of the HR Technology team, Labcorp is seeking a hands-on Senior AI Developer with strong engineering and implementation expertise to design, build, and deploy AI-powered HR applications and enterprise capabilities. This role is execution-focused, reporting into the Director of HR AI Solutions & Architecture who owns strategy, architectural direction, and the HR AI roadmap. You will build applications, integrations, workflows, and RAG-based systems using IBM watsonx and modern AI/ML frameworks. You will partner closely with HR teams, engineers, and platform owners (Workday, ServiceNow, etc.) to develop and operationalize real AI products by translating defined designs and requirements into working, high-quality solutions at scale.
