As a Data Science Engineer at Micron, you will employ techniques and theories drawn from areas of mathematics, statistics, semiconductor physics, materials science, and information technology to uncover patterns in data from which predictive models, actionable insights, and solutions can be developed.
You will interact with experienced Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Business Areas Engineers to identify questions and issues for data analysis projects and improvement of existing tools. In this position, you will help develop application, algorithms and/or automated processes to cleanse, integrate, and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources. There will be significant opportunities to perform exploratory and new solution development activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze manufacturing data to identify bottlenecks, quality issues, and optimization opportunities
- Develop and deploy predictive models, anomaly detection systems, and quality analytics solutions
- Collaborate closely with PMs, IT, and Core AI teams to drive cross-functional AI initiatives
- Build interactive dashboards and visualizations to support data-driven decision-making
- Work within the GCP environment for model training, deployment, and maintenance
- Explore and implement MLOps, AutoML, and other advanced techniques to enhance model performance and reliability
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or above in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related fields
- 5+ years of experience in data science, with a proven track record in the semiconductor industry
- Proficient in Python, SQL, TensorFlow or other deep learning frameworks
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Skilled in data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Strong communication skills and experience in cross-functional collaboration
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with MLOps, CI/CD, and model deployment/monitoring practices
- Experience with AutoML, reinforcement learning, or generative AI applications
- Knowledge of MES, SPC, EDA systems integration in manufacturing environments
- Participation in large-scale AI projects or platform development
