About Investment Data and Analytics
Our organization’s mission is to build technology that lets the firm systematize and scale its understanding of private markets and management of our funds. Our team works side-by-side with investors and quantitative researchers to innovate technology-driven investment processes; solve broad industry problems ranging from AI driven digitization of unstructured data to systematic monitoring of private equity portfolios.
The Director role combines hands-on technical depth with ownership of major platform domains, translating complex investment problems into scalable data systems that reach production. This position requires leading architecture and design decisions within your domain, setting engineering standards, and developing engineers — while partnering closely with investment and research teams to ensure what we build gets adopted.
What you will do:
Data engineering — own the design and delivery of pipelines and data models across financial/economic datasets using modern data stacks.
Infrastructure/platform engineering — lead the build-out of reliable, secure cloud data systems supporting investment, fund, and portfolio workflows.
Data Quality — establish standards for accuracy, lineage, observability, and service levels across core investment datasets.
Technical leadership — mentor engineers, lead design and code reviews, and raise the engineering bar through standards and practical judgment.
And ... Problem solving — partner with investors and researchers to turn ambiguous investment problems into working technical solutions.
What you bring:
Proven experience designing, building, and operating cloud data platforms in production, including complex batch and incremental processing.
Strong proficiency with SQL, Python, Snowflake or equivalent cloud warehouses, DBT, pipeline orchestration tools such as Dagster or Airflow, and Azure data tooling.
Depth in data modeling, ETL/ELT frameworks, data quality, testing, observability, and production support, with the judgment to make sound architectural trade-offs.
Track record leading significant technical workstreams end-to-end, mentoring engineers, and delivering data products used by investment, finance, or operations teams.
Education Preferred
Bachelor of Science (B.S) or equivalent in Computer Science
Master of Science (M.S) or equivalent in Computer Science
Experience
8+ Years of Data Engineering and software delivery experience preferred
3-5 Years of Technical Project Leadership experience, partnering directly with investment, finance, and operations teams
