Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Sr. Data Engineer (multiple openings) in Austin, TX to:

• Perform data engineering activities on Hadoop and Greenplum Data warehouse (GPDB) ecosystem.
• Work with very large data sets and build programs that leverage Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) Data warehouse platforms.
• Utilize Big Data technologies and tools with the ability to share ideas among a collaborative team.
• Load data from several disparate, data sets, documentation, performance testing and debugging applications.
• Be responsive to evolving threat landscape, regulatory compliance, IT security requirements and technology architecture.
• Handle long-term retention for security system logs and security sensor logs.
• Represent the team in the project meetings.
• Position reports to the Austin, TX office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Information Systems or related field, followed by 5 years of progressively responsible, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation.

• Complete Big-Data Stack including Hadoop, GreenPlum, Hive, Spark Programming, Shell-script, Python, Scala, Kafka, Flume and Elastic-Search
• Databases: DB2, Oracle, SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDb
• Hadoop Distributions: Cloudera & Hortonworks
• Cyber Security and Data Science
• Vulnerability Patch Management
• Data analysis, data validation, data cleansing, data verification and identifying mismatch
• Securonix
• Geographical Integration of Data Pipelines
• Sensitive Data Encryption like PAN PII.

Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $170,498.00 USD to $180,500.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
