As a Data Analyst in the Observability team, you will help SimCorp use data to make better decisions. We are looking for someone who can handle ad hoc analysis and reporting for observability and telemetry.    

 

The ideal candidate is curious and enjoys solving complex analytical problems in different business areas. You should be motivated to provide useful insights and visualizations to various teams across SimCorp in a way that is automated, scalable, and quality-checked. 

 

This role will grow over time to include areas like analytics engineering, data analysis, and experimentation. We believe that Data Engineering is essential for a successful modern Software Engineering team. We’re looking for someone who enjoys building high-quality analytical solutions and tackling data challenges, even when there is some uncertainty. 

 

Role and Responsibilities 

- Work with internal customers to define useful metrics for their products. 

- Handle ad hoc analysis requests, including working with customers to understand their questions. 

- Proactively collaborate with other analysts to find ways to improve analytics and support new initiatives. 

- Help teams access data and insights by developing tools like Azure Dashboards, PowerBI, Grafana, and Kibana. 

 

What We're Looking For 

- Experience with some of the following: SQL, Python, Query DSL (ELK), Grafana, Kibana, Azure AppInsights, Microsoft Fabric, PowerBI. 

- Proven experience generating insights from data, preferably as a data analyst. 

- Knowledge of Software Engineering tools and concepts like Infrastructure as Code and Git. Experience in designing machine learning solutions (e.g., for pattern recognition or recommendation systems) is a plus. 

 

Essential Toolkit 

- Applying data analysis techniques and mathematical methods to complex problems 

- Experience working with large/complex datasets 

- Building dashboards in self-service BI solutions e.g. PowerBI 

- Communication 

- Active listening and Collaboration 

- Ability to simplify the complex and tailor output for any audience 

- Able to bring different skills and personalities together to deliver great outcomes
