F&G is looking to hire for a Data Analyst, AIM (Alteryx)

The Sr. Data Analyst, Actuarial Modernization is responsible for supporting F&G’s Actuarial Modernization activities through the development of efficient tools in Alteryx, Excel or SQL or other approved software.  This role will collaborate with business stakeholders and leaders to improve actuarial models and processes associated

This position reports to the AVP – Actuarial Modernization, and will partner with business leaders and  stakeholders, IT staff, and an extended team of offshore resources to meet the delivery objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, business leaders, and subject matter experts in understanding, replicating, improving, and supporting their actuarial model preparation, reporting, and other processes.
  • Integrate data from various sources to support development of solutions such as reports, audit controls, and self-service apps.
  • Lead the Development user-friendly, efficient tools in Alteryx, Excel, SQL, etc…
  • Lead the implementation of necessary changes to existing tools and processes
  • Improve, minimize or eliminate the use Excel workbooks by converting to Alteryx or other software by consolidating inputs, utilizing intuitive formulas, and removing any unused or redundant data
  • Create and maintain comprehensive, clear documentation on tools and processes that have been developed and implemented
  • Collaborate with teammates to efficiently complete projects

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required – Preferred in technical disciplines, such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, etc.
  • 4+ years of experience creating advanced reports using Alteryx, Tableau, and Excel, SQL, and similar tools
  • 2+ years of experience creating advanced reports using Alteryx, Tableau, and Excel, and similar tools
  • Preferred Alteryx Designer Core Certification
  • Preferred life insurance industry experience of 2 or more years working with actuaries or other finance professionals preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong Alteryx, MS Excel, Access and VBA skills
  • Experience writing/deciphering complex SQL queries and strong knowledge of SQL
  • Strong technical documentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
  • Excellent teamwork and relationship building skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Must be a self-starter, extremely detail oriented, and be able handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and operate efficiently in unpredictable and challenging project environments
  • Strong knowledge of software development life cycle methodologies
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment with minimal supervision.

  • Perform other functions, duties and projects as assigned
  • Regular and punctual attendance
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment and handle multiple projects and assignments under tight deadlines
  • Must demonstrate willingness to work flexible hours as needed to accommodate business needs and deliverables
  • Some travel may be required (less than 10%)
