The Credit Manager oversees the credit, customer maintenance, and extended credit line (ECL) functions within AR Shared Services. This role is responsible for credit policy execution, customer credit risk evaluation, reporting, and performance metrics. The Credit Manager ensures compliance, drives

process improvement, and provides leadership to the Credit and Customer Maintenance team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the Credit and Customer Maintenance teams, including ECL activities, credit applications, and master data accuracy.
  • Evaluate customer financial data for financial risk and make credit limit determinations consistent with FleetPride’s credit policy.
  • Monitor AR performance metrics including DSO, aging buckets, bad debt reserves, and credit exposure trends.
  • Periodically review allowance for bad debt reserves with GL accounting counterparts.
  • Report on aged or delinquent customer accounts to collections or AR credit insurance providers.
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, and Finance to resolve credit holds, mitigate risk, and improve cash flow.
  • Support accounting and credit integration activities related to mergers and acquisitions, including record maintenance and customer account transitions.
  • Develop, document, and maintain credit policies and procedures; ensure compliance with FleetPride standards.
  • Take appropriate actions regarding bankruptcy claims including filing proof of claims, establishing reclamation rights, defending preference actions and corresponding with legal counsel if warranted.
  • Prepare regular credit performance reports and present key findings to leadership.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and lead implementation initiatives in coordination with Shared Services leadership.
  • Prepare or review accounting entries related to customer credits, rebates, or adjustments as necessary.
  • Assist FP store locations with internal clearing.
  • Regularly communicate credit performance updates and emerging risks to the Director of Shared Services and executive leadership.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and performance feedback to team members, including the Credit Team Lead and offshore staff.
  • Maintain and safeguard correspondence, information and credit records in accordance with company policies.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to ongoing optimization of payment collection and AR customer record practices.
  • Performs other Accounts Receivable duties assigned by management.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience)

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Strong financial analysis, credit evaluation, and reporting skills. (Advanced Excel, Power BI a plus)
  • 12+ years in credit and AR management, with 5+ years experience leading multi-location or offshore teams.
  • Proficiency in ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, AS400), and cloud-based AR automation tools (BillTrust, Esker).
  • Experience with ERP customer master data governance and control processes.
  • Demonstrate good communication and analytical skills
  • Effective planning and organizing
  • Experience working in a high-volume or fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally

  • Coordination: Adjusting actions in relation to others’ actions.
  • Management of Material Resources: Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of offshore support, equipment, facilities and materials needed to perform certain work.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The performance of this position may require exposure to the warehouse areas where certain areas may require the use of personal protective equipment such as steel-toed shoes and safety glasses. The primary environment is characterized by ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment found in a typical office environment.
