You will be responsible for managing the cost accounting system, driving accurate valuation of inventory and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), and providing deep analysis of manufacturing costs for the North American IDS region.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE :
Perform month-end and year-end cost accounting close procedures.
Maintain standard costs, including setting and updating standard costs for material, labor, and overheads.
Analyze and report on manufacturing cost variances (Material/PPV, Labor, and Overheads), identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
Coordinate with Supply Chain and Operations teams to ensure effective inventory management, including cycle counts and other inventory adjustments.
Calculate and analyze inventory valuation, including excess and obsolescence (E&O) reserves.
Prepare general ledger reconciliations for all inventory accounts.
Support financial audits and ensure strict compliance with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), GAAP, and internal controls (e.g., SOX).
Support the annual budgeting and forecasting processes with cost data and analysis.
Provide product costing information to support strategic pricing decisions and intercompany transfer pricing.
Partner with operations and engineering teams to understand costs and drive cost improvement initiatives.
Complete ad hoc projects and analysis as required by management.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Typically 3-5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing or process environment.
Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g. Oracle preferred), Google Suite, advanced Excel skills.
CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
Fluent in written and oral English.
Strong analytical skills & a deep understanding of manufacturing cost control concepts.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
Familiarity with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) & Sarbanes – Oxley (SOX) compliance.
Ability to work overtime when needed to meet tight deadlines.
