About the Position

The Senior Contracts Specialist will plan, develop, and assist in the preparation of contractual provisions and the administration of Federal Government contracts, subcontracts and proposals. This dynamic individual must be able to multi-task, be flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Conduct proposal preparation, contract negotiation and administration of contracts or subcontracts while providing routine contract support including preparing contractual documentation from pre-award through closure, contract briefs, budgets, summaries and billing instructions.
  • Monitor company performance for conformance to original proposal and maintain continual reviews to ensure that all terms and conditions are met and that the contract is in accordance with legal requirements, customer specifications, and government regulations.
  • Prepare and disseminate information throughout the company regarding contract status, compliance, modification, deviation, negotiation and termination and supports bid teams with preparation, production and submission of business and technical proposal volumes.
  • Develop a ledger and track modifications (reason for mod, increase or decrease in contract value) and invoices throughout the life of the contract.
  • Facilitate contractor invoice review with CORs to ensure costs are allocable, allowable, and reasonable and meet quality standards.
  • Participate in meetings and coordinate with the government and contractor support staff as needed to recommend and prepare post-award contract actions.
  • Modify contract/task orders.
  • Prepare contract closeout documentation and file for close out execution.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Ability and willingness to travel 20% of time or as needed for current and future business. 
Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of field operations, company specific policies and procedures, federal and contract regulations.
  • Experience using Microsoft products and utilizing operations support systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with effective written and oral communication skills that result in clear, concise, and positive communications.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of company policies and procedures.

Education and Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience as a Contracts Specialist or similar role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Finance is preferred.

  • Knowledge of field operations, company policies and procedures, federal and contract regulations (e.g., FAR).
  • Experience using Microsoft products (Microsoft Office).
  • Experience utilizing operations support systems.

  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Finance.
