- Own and improve particle and molecular contamination testing methods, equipment procedures, recipes, maintenance requirements, and supporting processes.
- Lead complex investigations involving contamination, cleaning, process deviations, and manufacturing issues using structured root cause and problem-solving methods.
- Develop structural improvements that increase productivity, efficiency, first-pass yield, and overall process capability while reducing contamination-related defects.
- Lead technical initiatives involving new product introductions, equipment investments, capacity planning, continuous improvement, and manufacturing readiness.
- Monitor and analyze performance using key performance indicators, statistical process control, Pareto analysis, control charts, and other data-driven quality methods.
- Develop and qualify contamination control processes for new manufacturing equipment, including installation, calibration, documentation, and process validation.
- Mentor engineers and collaborate across teams by sharing contamination control expertise, supporting technical reviews, and promoting consistent problem-solving practices.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related technical field.
- Five or more years of experience in production engineering, process development, manufacturing engineering, or a related environment involving cleaning and contamination control.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning processes and equipment used for particle and molecular contamination detection, measurement, and analysis.
- Three or more years of experience leading continuous improvement initiatives. Lean or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
- Three or more years of experience leading technical projects or cross-functional initiatives. Project management certification is a plus.
- Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, high-tech manufacturing, complex assembly, or cleanroom environments is preferred.
- Experience with manufacturing execution systems, enterprise resource planning systems, engineering change processes, or product lifecycle management is preferred.
