Job Purpose and Impact
- The Mac & Mobility Engineer is responsible for delivering technical execution and lifecycle management of Apple (macOS/iOS) and Android endpoint services. This role ensures secure, reliable, and efficient operation of Mac and mobile devices by managing provisioning, patching, software deployment, compliance, and automation. The position requires deep expertise in macOS, iOS, Android, and mobile device management platforms to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
Key Accountabilities
- Mac & Mobility Endpoint Services: Deliver technical execution of Mac and Mobility endpoint services, including provisioning, patching, software deployment, and compliance across Apple and Android platforms.
- Provisioning & Configuration: Own and maintain provisioning and configuration processes using JAMF Pro, Intune, and Apple Business Manager, ensuring consistent deployment and lifecycle management.
- MDM/MAM Administration: Administer and optimize mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM) platforms to support compliance, security, and user experience across Mac and mobile ecosystems.
- Advanced Support: Provide Tier 4 (L4) technical support for complex endpoint issues, including OS-level failures, MDM conflicts, and deployment errors.
- Security & Vulnerability Management: Design and execute patching and vulnerability remediation strategies to ensure endpoint security and platform stability.
- Hardware & Carrier Integration: Contribute to hardware evaluation, mobile carrier integration, and device readiness for Apple and Android platforms.
- Automation & Continuous Improvement: Support engineering backlog and develop automation scripts to improve configuration, compliance, and user experience across Mac and Mobility platforms.
- Collaboration: Partner with product and client experience teams to resolve issues, improve service quality, and align with roadmap priorities.
Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of 4 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 5 years or more of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical Expertise:
- 5+ years advanced knowledge of macOS, iOS, and Android architecture, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
- 5+ years experience with JAMF Pro, Intune, and MDM/MAM platforms
- Strong scripting skills (Shell, Python, PowerShell preferred)
Experience: Minimum 4 years relevant experience; typically 5+ years in Mac/Mobility engineering or related roles
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
Recommended Certifications:
- JAMF Certified Technician or JAMF Certified Admin
- Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator AssociateITIL Foundation Certification
