Support our computing software and hardware infrastructure in an office, manufacturing, warehouse and remote worker environment. Responsible for installing, modifying, and making repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems. Research issues, implement solutions, document processes and provide recommendations of software and hardware purchases to IT Manager. Provide technical assistance and training to end-users.

Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities:

  • Answer help desk support line: ensure there is coverage during normal business hours.
  • Enter service calls and requests into ticketing system.
  • Identify and research software and hardware issues.
  • Recommend software and hardware purchases to IT Manager. 
  • Install, configure, build, and troubleshoot personal computer equipment and software packages on computer end points. 
  • Document processes for help desk or end user’s to follow.
  • Release, monitor and resolve desktop updates of OS, antivirus and hardware updates.
  • Enter commands and observe system functions to verify correct system operation.
  • Respond to end-users inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnose system hardware, software, and operator problems.
  • Perform new hire computer introduction on software, hardware and telephone systems.
  • Provide backup coverage to help desk line.
  • Perform small group training in use of equipment and software as needed.
  • Provide updates, status, and completion information to manager, problem request tracking system, and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail, or in-person communication.
  • Coordinate service calls with outside vendors for repairs.
  • Review inventory of supplies, coordinate e-waste removal and follows state mandated recycling requirement.

Education and/or Experience:

  • An A.S. degree in Information Technology or professional certifications and 2 years of relevant experience or 6 years equivalent experience is required. 
  • Knowledge of computer controlled manufacturing and warehousing systems and experience is a plus. Experience with Microsoft add-ins and Windows OS migration is a plus.
  • Must have strong interpersonal communication skills, be able to work independently and with a team environment

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting, pushing, pulling and /or transporting of moderately heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), such as servers, desktops, UPS’s and peripherals.
  • Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time; some climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling will be required.
  • Spending long periods of time on the telephone helping and resolving internal customer issues.
  • Dexterity of hand and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, tablet, hand and power tools, and other components
  • Work frequently after hours to perform installs and troubleshoot issues outside of normal business hours.
