Essential Responsibilities
As the North America Senior Commercial Operations and Contracts Manager, you will:
Lead customer negotiations, ensuring an acceptable risk profile for GE given the specific scope of supply and deal dynamics; engage with approvers and subject-matter experts as necessary
Review and redline customer terms and conditions (T&Cs) and other commercial documents
Own the ComOps and respective risk process, including the use of tools and governance instances, ensuring development of consistent operations in ITO, adherent to our policies, processes & metrics; Drive early engagement, strategy development and approvals with region, product management, operations, and supporting functions
Partner with tendering to ensure high quality winning proposals and with sales to align commercial strategy with region’s plan for orders, cash and margin … support design and drive implementation of proposal standards and new commercial models to increase market reach
Ensure seamless hand-over of signed contracts to operations team
Drive empowerment through localization of T&Cs, functional expertise across region, and people capability development
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Legal, Engineering or related area from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 7 years of experience in Commercial Operations, contract management, sales, tendering, bid management and/or project management within energy (T&D, Power Generation, Oil & Gas), industrial, or infrastructure
Desired Characteristics
Experience with complex projects, developing complex proposals or structuring complex deals
In-depth knowledge of contractual terms and conditions; experience in structuring and negotiating complex contracts to minimize business risk
Experience with High Voltage projects, including AC Substations, HVDC (High-Voltage DC) and FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) technologies
Experience with complex services contracts (Long-Term Service Agreements)
Strong contractual & negotiation skills
Knowledge of electrical transmission and distribution projects or power projects
Ability to influence and lead cross functional teams
Previous experience in the Energy industry
Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Self-sufficiency and ability to program manage
Ability to think strategically and be operationally rigorous
Change agent with strong business acumen
Familiarity with the use and function of SPEAK4GE (SFDC)

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $128,400.00 and $213,900.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
