Summary of Position

The Senior Commercial Escrow Officer/Closer will play a pivotal role in our operations, serving as the primary point of contact for complex commercial real estate transactions. This position represents the cornerstone of our commercial division, requiring exceptional expertise in managing high-value, multi-faceted property closings.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and interpret complex legal documents including contracts, closing statements, deeds, affidavits, and settlement statements with meticulous attention to detail
  • Calculate and verify prorations, payoffs, and disbursements for multi-million-dollar transactions
  • Conduct thorough file examinations to ensure all closing requirements are satisfied prior to funding
  • Facilitate signing appointments with clear explanations of all documents for clients and attorneys
  • Disburse funds accurately and promptly according to closing instructions and legal requirements
  • Maintain comprehensive and well-organized transaction files that meet audit standards
  • Ensure strict adherence to Department of Insurance regulations, RESPA, and other applicable state and federal requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise in title insurance regulations, escrow procedures, and commercial real estate documentation

·         Creative approach to resolving complex title issues and closing obstacles. Ability to develop innovative solutions to unexpected challenges while maintaining compliance with legal requirements and company policies.

  • Advanced proficiency with industry-standard escrow and title software systems including SoftPro, RamQuest, ResWare, or equivalent platforms
  • Experience managing complex commercial transactions including office buildings, retail centers, industrial properties, and large-scale developments
  • Thorough understanding of commercial lending procedures, ALTA requirements, and survey standards
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with high-profile clients, attorneys, and partners. Demonstrated talent for clear communication of complex concepts to diverse audiences, from sophisticated investors to first-time commercial buyers.
  • Extraordinary attention to detail with the ability to identify potential issues within complex title commitments, legal descriptions, and closing documents. Capacity to catch discrepancies that others might miss while managing multiple concurrent transactions.

  • Texas Escrow Officer License in good standing
  • Requires at least 8 years of escrow experience, specifically 5 or more years in handling complex commercial transactions. A special emphasis on raw land development, light industrial, and multi-use and multi-family development
  • Adept at utilizing SoftPro or similar industry transaction management platforms
  • Demonstrated computer skills including a working knowledge of MS Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Work Availability 

·         Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.

·         Must be regularly available and willing to work at least full workdays from Monday through Friday and such other hours as the Company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
