The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Claims Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in providing exceptional claim handling and customer service.  This role will require knowledge in the fundamentals of handling third-party property damage claims.

In this role, you will manage and resolve commercial lines claims efficiently and effectively, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. You will conduct detailed assessments of claims to determine coverage, liability, damages, and appropriate settlements. Effectively communicate with claimants, policyholders and vendors to gather necessary information and documentation. You will also provide exceptional customer service, addressing any questions or concerns promptly and professionally. Collaboration with internal departments will be necessary to ensure timely and efficient processing of claims.

What You’ll Do

  • Investigate, evaluate, and settle third-party casualty claims in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Analyze coverage and prepare coverage disclaimers, partial disclaimers, and Reservation of Rights letters when necessary.
  • Conduct detailed assessments of claims to determine liability, damages, and appropriate settlements.
  • Communicate with claimants, policyholders to gather necessary information and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough claim files, documenting all activities and decisions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any questions or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely and efficient processing of claims.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to casualty claims.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge, as well as maintain an active adjusters' license.

What You’ll Need

  •    Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., AIC, CPCU) preferred.
    •    Minimum of 3 years' experience in claims handling, with a proven track record of resolving claims.
    •    Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
    •    Proficient in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    •    Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
    •    Currently hold an active state adjuster license or obtain following date of hire (American National will incur all fees associated/No out of pocket expenses)
