The Sr Chief Systems Engineer will lead and manage an engineering team and be responsible for driving continuous improvement efforts across different engineering disciplines. This role will be responsible for making critical decisions that have a large impact on projects and engineering initiatives and develop and foster engineers to think innovatively, hold accountability, and process improvement on a daily basis. This role will participate in engineering activities to ensure successful product development, timely execution of programs, and total customer satisfaction. As a Systems Engineer, you will work multiple engineering disciplines and product development teams ensuring the logical creation and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions and integrated systems. Areas include electro-hydraulic control systems, mechanical systems, engine and hybrid/electric drive systems, and hydraulic systems. This role will also be responsible for analysis, reliability assessment, and test and validation of designs.
YOUR IMPACT:
- Establish the overall strategy and objectives for a segment engineering team. Develop the technical engineering strategy to support the larger business strategy. Identify technical trends, secure funding and resources to enable future growth/business growth.
- Promote and champion a people first culture throughout the engineering organization. Responsible for owning succession planning for the segment engineering team including top talent gap identification and creation of individual development plans.
- Collaboration with functional and segment leaders to ensure that engineering strategy & goals are aligned with the organizations vision.
- Responsibility for top-down communications - cascading information to engineering group to ensure alignment with overall vision/strategy/goals. Ability to present to JLG leadership and external customers.
- Develop system level solutions supporting research, regulatory compliance, reliability, development, failure mode analysis, verification, validation, testing and production implementation.
- Create or improve plans and procedures, generate and present briefings, and provide leadership in select areas.
- Contribute to the development of new technologies and establish system and sub-system requirements according to the needs of a project.
- Work in a team environment with internal and external project teams on development efforts from the project concept through production.
- Establish and manage requirements traceability and compliance.
- Build consensus and manage change.
- Convey progress to Senior Management.
- Identify risks and help define characterization, verification, and test to mitigate risk.
- Create and assist in generation of validation test cases and execution of plans to generate reports to verify user needs have been met.
- Perform complex engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to JLG as well as general industry engineering standards and processes.
- Manage resource planning, goal settings and development of team.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Regular attendance is required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with twelve (12) or more years of related experience.
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Off-Road and Industrial product designs and systems.
- Experience with larger OEM process and procedure.
Pay Range:
$117,000.00 - $202,400.00
The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
