SUMMARY:
This position will manage a team of 3 Kroger Customer Category Managers and be actively involved with advising Kroger on all category and shopper centric opportunities to drive sales volume, distribution and advancing customer relations. Core responsibilities include providing managerial expertise, project leadership and actionable insights and recommendations that drive category and brand growth. This position will also lead Tyson’s engagement with the local Kroger data organizations of 84.51 and Circana.
The ideal candidate will:
- Apply expert knowledge of category and shopper insights into strategy-focused and actionable long-term sales initiatives that deliver Tyson and retailer objectives.
- They will be expected to identify and quantify opportunities and strategies for macro-space assortment, aisle optimization and/or department reinvention, category adjacencies, promotion optimization, and pricing.
- This role works closely with Sales Team and Executive Leadership and actively develops and participates in Top-to-Tops, Category Business Plans, Customer Category Reviews and Business Reviews with the support of CCMs and various team members.
- As a leader, they will be expected to provide management skills assessment and on the job development to direct reports.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: BA degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: 7 plus years of experience in Category Management, Sales, and or Consumer Insights. Food industry and Kroger experience a plus.
Demonstrated Skills: Leadership, out of the box thinking, Strategic Customer Experience, Storytelling, Sense of urgency and prioritization, Packaged and Fresh category experience.
Special Skills: Strong experience managing diverse people skillsets and comprehensive proactive project management; strong ability to leverage creative thinking; advanced analytics and insights capabilities utilizing retailer data sources syndicated data and internal proprietary data. Excellent presentation verbal and written communication skills. Advanced skills in PowerPoint Excel.
