The Opportunity

This position is based in our Plymouth, MN location in the Office of Ethics and Compliance.

As the Senior Business Systems Analyst supporting the Medical Devices Division, you will provide compliance guidance and data-driven analysis to key business stakeholders, and leverage data insights to inform elements of Abbott’s compliance program at the business unit and division-wide level.  You will also support efforts to streamline compliance trending, risk identification, risk mitigation, and remediation across Abbott’s Medical Devices Division. 

Join Our Team as a Senior Business Systems Analyst!  We are seeking a dynamic professional with a proven track record in developing data-intensive Power BI reports and dashboards, meticulous data governance, and innovative compliance technology strategies. If you have experience developing robust analytical tools, a background in Business Analytics, Data Science, Compliance, Finance, or IT, and are an effective communicator at all levels, we want you on our team!

What You’ll Work On:

  • Data Modeling and Analysis: Gather and analyze data to identify compliance risks, detect opportunity for improved controls, ensure adherence to policies and regulations, and enable data-driven decision-making. Preferred platform is Microsoft Power BI.
  • Technology Innovation: Proactively seek out and integrate new technologies to enhance our internal processes.
  • Data Methodology: Meticulously document both new and existing workflows, ensuring clarity and continuity in our operations.
  • Compliance Support: 
    • Independently analyze various business transactions and provide guidance, support, and appropriate advice regarding compliance matters associated with Abbott policies and industry standards.
    • Effectively use data analysis tools and problem-solving techniques to identify and prioritize assessment of potential risk.
    • Possess solid knowledge of Abbott’s businesses and the broader regulatory environment.  Participate in and support moderately complex OEC risk mitigation projects and programs cross-divisionally.  Provide guidance to business unit and OEC teammates based on interpretation of data and analytics. 

Required Qualifications

  • Education Level: Bachelor’s degree
  • Major/Field of Study in Data Science, Compliance, Business, Finance, or IT  
  • 4+ years’ experience in related field
  • Proficient in Power BI: data visualization, data governance, reports/dashboards
  • Strong analytical skills, proficiency in data analysis software, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and present it in a clear, concise manner.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business results. 
  • Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Strong written and verbal skills and an ability to effectively communicate, influence, direct and collaborate with colleagues at all levels.
  • Multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Power Platform suite, including Power Query, Power Automate, and Power Apps
  • Managing Enterprise Architecture
  • Knowledge of Large Data storage
  • Pharmaceutical and/or Medical Devices experience

The base pay for this position is

$75,300.00 – $150,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
