Senior Marketing Technology (MarTech) Analyst (Senior Advisor) - Hybrid
The Sr. Marketing Technology Analyst contributes to the Marketing team’s goal of increasing efficiency, effectiveness and business impact through projects that operationalize and optimize The Cigna Group’s marketing technology stack.
Job Summary
The Sr. Marketing Technology Analyst plays a key role in implementing the marketing technology roadmap to support business capabilities. Reporting to the Senior Marketing Technology Manager, this role is instrumental in delivering value across marketing transformation projects that align with our marketing technology strategy and goals. Partnering with matrix partners and external consulting firms, this role is focused on:
Planning & Alignment
- Identify and organize business needs prior to marketing technology implementation.
- Form and articulate the business challenge, organize and document needs to enable the solution design & development requirements for projects.
- Ensure projects are aligned with business goals and architecture; delivering business value early and often.
- Drive alignment and communication with business and technical teams.
- Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships by fostering a culture of trust and transparency across projects; maintain strong relationships with upstream and downstream teams including Procurement and IT.
Project Management
- Support marketing technology projects for Business Marketing & Marketing Center of Excellence teams (B2B, B2C, Internal Agency, Social Media, etc.) by owning discovery, design, development, testing, and post implementation activities.
- Own project planning and alignment efforts, including defining project scope, timelines, business requirements, dependency mapping, and resource allocation.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including communication plans, meeting schedules, business requirements, project plans, release schedules, and release notes.
- Own standup meetings, story grooming sessions, and retrospectives across projects.
- Create informative presentations to simply communicate project updates, key takeaways, and recommendations.
- Participate in working and steering committees.
Operations & Analysis
- Gain deep working knowledge of internal policies and procedures relative to data governance, access, storage, and processing. Collaborate with data engineers in IT to drive technical standards and ensure seamless integrations between platforms.
- Partner with Procurement, Finance, Legal, Information Protection, and other internal teams to support the approval process for new software and service contracts and renewals.
- Support onboarding/offboarding of new vendors and external partners.
- Support marketing technology adoption and change management initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to enhance existing processes and optimize performance by leveraging new or existing marketing technology.
- Analyze data to identify trends for process improvements to support the operationalization of the marketing technology stack.
- Partner with the Marketing Operations’ Process & Workflow team to address business process gaps. Work to streamline business processes and connect with technical capabilities.
Ideal candidates will offer
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Information Technology, or related area.
- 5+ years of experience in a business analyst or project management role at an enterprise; healthcare industry experience is a plus.
- Experience working on technology projects involving Customer Data Platforms, Content Management Systems, Marketing Automation Platforms, and/or CRM systems. Knowledge of Adobe and Salesforce technology stacks a plus.
- Experience working with external consulting firms of all sizes.
- Familiar with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban); Agile certification(s) a plus.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Wrike or similar technologies.
- Proven track record of prioritizing multiple projects with shifting requirements and timelines; self-motivated with the ability to adapt quickly to make or influence decisions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and desire to understand.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented in all aspects including documentation.
- Ability to be in-office three days a week, as directed by the business.
