Position Summary
Acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for management of interruptible billing. This role is pivotal in validating daily readings using the MV90 application, supporting teams during interruptions, and ensuring accurate billing and usage reporting for interruptible customers and Competitive Service Providers (CSPs). The Sr Billing Analyst plays a strategic role by collaborating with various departments to maintain accurate data and policies for interruptible accounts, directly contributing to the company’s operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. This position is essential for driving process improvements, ensuring system reliability, supporting regulatory compliance, and enhancing the overall customer experience.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Billing Process Analysis: Analyze key billing processes to enhance the customer experience and continuously improve the SAP billing system.
- Manage the MV90 Application: Serve as the SME of MV90 daily interruptible readings and manage the integration with SAP and the Bulletin Board.
- Conversion Management: Lead conversion from/to FIRM and IRATE, and collaborate with Key Accounts regarding policies and procedures for all IRATE accounts.
- Billing Verification: Verify billing (usage/rates and special charges, including GSA and NIH special contracts).
- Competitive Service Provider (CSP) Support: Assist with ensuring CSP with IRATE delivery, monthly capacity estimates, storage, and balancing.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as Finance, Customer Service, and Digital to ensure seamless billing operations and address any issues that arise.
- Process Improvement & Project Management: Drive and support process improvements and provide project management support for SAP and other customer service-related projects.
- Change Management: Submit new change requests and enhancements to IT, drive the requirements, and perform post-deployment quality assurance.
- Collections: Work closely with collections to resolve billing disputes quickly, ensuring that any discrepancies are addressed and corrected.
- Compliance & Audit Support: Ensure all billing activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Support internal and external audits as needed.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze billing data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement. Generate regular reports and performance metrics.
- Data Requests: Support and compile internal and external data requests, including responses to the Office of General Counsel, Regulatory, Rate, and Finance department requests for financial filings and Public Service Commission data requests.
- Policy Maintenance: Maintain and update policies and procedures for responsible areas.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Engineering or a related field.
- Without a bachelor’s degree: With a high school diploma or G.E.D., an additional 4 years of the required experience may be substituted; with an associate degree, an additional 2 years of required experience may be substituted.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with appropriate development technologies/tools and working knowledge of enterprise financial and billing systems
- Demonstrated strong IT and business background with emphasis on analytic skills.
- Proven ability to analyze data in complex relational databases using data analysis tools.
- Demonstrated ability to logically analyze and solve business problems.
- Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and effective working relationships with business partners, all levels of management and peers.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate logically and concisely verbally and in writing to diverse audiences at all organization levels.
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to use computer software and applications, including Microsoft Office Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word, to share, retrieve, research and present business information.
- Experience using database/data management systems, such as SAP IS-Utilities & MV90 Application is required.
We offer a competitive salary range of $81,000> to $111,750 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
