We are looking for a skilled BI Developer to support our Reporting initiative. The role focuses more on Data Engineering and data modeling, to ensure compliance with the following responsibilities:.

• Develop, maintain, and optimize Looker dashboards and visualizations for HCA compliance reporting.
• Build and extend LookML models to support business requirements and ensure data accuracy.
• Translate business and regulatory requirements into technical specifications and reporting logic.
• Perform source-to-target mapping and work closely with data architects to ensure proper model alignment.
• Query and validate data in Snowflake using SQL for use in Looker reports.
• Collaborate with data analysts, QA, and product owners to ensure reporting quality, accuracy, and usability.
• Ensure all reports meet audit, regulatory (e.g., HCA), and performance standards.

`Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in BI/reporting development
• Strong proficiency in Looker and LookML modeling (Liquid Variables)
• Strong experience in configuring and managing dependencies between PDTs (Persistent Derived Tables)
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake or similar cloud-based data warehouses
• Solid SQL skills for querying, validation, and data transformation (Joins, Windows Functions, Common Table Expressions (CTEs) with LookML)
• Experience utilizing the SQL tab, explaining plans for performance tuning, and leveraging query and history logs to investigate performance issues.
• Experience optimizing LookML for large datasets, ensuring performance queries.
• Experience with dimensional data modeling and best practices for scalable BI architecture.
• Experience implementing data security and setting up conditional access based on roles or organizational hierarchy.
• Experience with user Attributes and Parameterization (based on the environment, region or user roles, personalizing dashboards and queries.
• Experience configuring data groups for cache invalidation, understanding cache behavior in Looker, and tuning refresh intervals.
• Familiarity with Git for version control in Looker projects, managing Git branches, merging conflicts, and LookML project workflows
• Experience with Agile tools like JIRA and Confluence.
