As a Sr Software Engineer, you will actively contribute to building an AI platform for LLM-powered content generation, processing, and serving within the Yahoo Finance AI team. You will focus on writing high-quality, performant code and collaborating with team members to deliver a seamless experience across Yahoo Finance products.
Your Responsibilities:
Write production and prototype code for various system components, ensuring high performance and scalability.
Build APIs to facilitate integration and usage of the AI platform.
Write high-quality, performant code in Python, Java, or other languages on Cloud environments.
Develop and maintain unit, functional, and end-to-end integration tests. Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality.
Collaborate with product and engineering leads to implement new features and infrastructure improvements.
Mentor junior engineers on coding practices and development workflows.
Key Qualifications:
Strong computer science foundations, including data structures, algorithms, programming languages (Python, Java), databases, distributed systems, and information retrieval.
3+ years of real-world experience with a strong focus on writing production code.
Deep functional knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, RESTful Web Services, Containerization (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes).
Strong coding background with a proven track record of writing high-quality, maintainable code.
Excellent understanding of networking, I/O, and Linux/Unix environments.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration within the team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience building AI applications, particularly those involving LLMs.
Proficiency in Cloud orchestrations and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Familiarity with Machine Learning and Deep Learning concepts.
Experience with time series analysis and financial datasets.
Experience with finetuning ML/DL models.

The compensation for this position ranges from $128,250.00 - $266,875.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
