About the Team

Offering a complete cloud-based ERP solution to thousands of unique customers, some of which have over a million employees, is an exciting prospect. Add to that a SLA of 99.7% availability of Workday for customers, an exponentially growing customer base, along with the deployment of a steady stream of new features to delight our customers and you will start to appreciate some of the challenges tackled by Workday’s Tenant Lifecycle Engineering (TLE) organisation.
The TLE Automation team is a global team responsible for the orchestration that delivers some of Workday's most critical business functions like the weekly Workday Maintenance Window.

About the Role

We're looking for a motivated Associate Site Reliability Engineer to join the TLE Automation team in Dublin. The successful candidate will be passionate about the delivery of enterprise grade software in a fast paced agile environment. Specifically, you will:

  • Design & develop components of an object-oriented python codebase.

  • Write corresponding unit and integration tests that will run via our integration pipeline.

  • Maintain and improve integration and delivery pipelines.

  • Solve issues that may arise during the execution of the team's code.

  • Mentor and learn from other team members through pair programming, code reviews and team collaboration sessions.

  • Provide out of hours on-call support for our team.

About You

Basic Qualifications:
  • 2+ years experience as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) or Software Engineer, preferably within a SaaS or high-availability environment.

  • 2+ years experience of software development using object-oriented Python.

  • 2+ years of working within a Linux/Unix operating environment.

  • Use of source control management systems as part of your daily work, ideally GIT.

  • Support of enterprise software including resolution of issues, root cause analysis and delivery of bug fixes.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Other Qualifications:
  • Contribution to an object-oriented Python codebase that is delivered in line with the Software Development Lifecycle.

  • Being part of a development team using agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban.

It would be helpful to have experience with:
  • Integration/delivery tooling (eg. Jenkins, Harness).

  • Monitoring & alerting tools like Prometheus, Mimir and/or Grafana.
