Sr. Application Engineering Manager

Sanhua's Microchannel Heat Exchanger Unit is looking for a Sr. Application Engineering Manager to join our team. The Sr. Application Engineering Manager will use technical knowledge of product offerings to support and grow sales within the residential and commercial HVAC and data center cooling markets. They will provide assistance to customers in microchannel heat exchanger product selection and design, receive and process technical inquiries from customers, coordinate response with Sanhua & R-Squared sales, engineering, and facilities teams, globally. 
This is a fully remote position and can be located within the continental USA
Responsibilities:

• Interfaces with customer engineering and procurement teams, translating customer requirements into product proposals in conjunction with our back office engineering team.
• Assesses potential application of company products and services to offer solutions that meet customer needs and grow company sales.
• Primary contact for OEM customers for product technical matters.
• Works with field sales counterparts; researches, prepares, and presents reports to customers showing the value proposition of utilizing company products and services.
• Provides technical training to clients and communicates customer feedback for future product development and sales growth planning.
• This position does not have direct reports, but requires a mix of project management, engineering, and soft management skills.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required
• Prior engineering management experience not strictly required, though our typical employee has worked directly managing an engineering team in the past.
• 10+ years of experience in HVAC&R systems or heat exchange: design, development, or manufacturing in same or in a related thermal products field. 
• Working knowledge of general engineering processes, procedures, and analytical methods. 
• Practical experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals where a wide degree of creativity and self-motivation are necessary.
• Project management skills.
• Note that this is a fully remote position that will require some moderate amounts of travel to customer sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MS or MBA degree 
• Familiarity with a variety of the HVAC&R industry OEMs, concepts, practices, applications, standards, systems and components.  Past employment with a HVAC OEM a plus.
• Experience with computer-based design and analysis of heat exchangers and thermal systems.
