Position Overview:
The Senior Application Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing financial systems and processes across the enterprise portfolio. This role ensures alignment between business objectives and technology solutions, with a strong focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O). The position requires expertise in financial modules, integration strategies, and governance frameworks to support scalable, compliant, and efficient operations.
What You'll Do:Solution Design & Architecture- Develop and maintain financial solution architecture leveraging D365 F&O.
- Engages with solution architects and engineers to design and configure solutions.
- Create and maintain functional technical solution design documents.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles and finance portfolio strategy.
- Lead configuration, customization, and deployment of D365 F&O financial modules (GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Budgeting).
- Work with supply chain and retail teams to support the enterprise level process solution designs, configure and own the financial components in supply chain and retail and commerce modules and systems.
- Configure modules and platform workflows in their designated system.
- Design and configure end user reporting.
- Develop test cases and test scripts and support the QA team in executing the testing.
- Create comprehensive documentation, including functional and technical specifications, solution designs, test plans, and user manuals. Develop content, as required, for training modules, deliver training, and provide guidance to system users and department staff.
- Drive automation and process improvements for financial operations.
- Oversee financial systems within the enterprise portfolio, ensuring interoperability and compliance.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to prioritize enhancements and integration.
- Ensure adherence to SOX, IFRS, and other regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Internal Audit and Information Security to embed controls in solution design.
- Design and manage integrations between D365 F&O and other enterprise systems (e.g., procurement, banking, analytics).
- Maintain data integrity and support financial reporting requirements.
- Understand data mapping and data flow within the supported systems.
- Act as a liaison between Finance, IT, and external vendors.
- Provide technical guidance and training to finance teams.
- University Degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
- 5+ years’ experience as a Functional Consultant or Analyst, implementing D365 FnO and Corporate solutions in a technology role.
- ERP large scale enterprise implementations of Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations
- Strong knowledge of financial modules and related workflows.
- Experience in enterprise architecture frameworks and portfolio governance.
- Understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance standards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in Agile/SAFe environments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, large workloads, and multi-task effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills and presentation skills.
- Ability to think innovatively, solve complex problems and present solutions in clear and compelling terms.
- Certification in D365 Finance & Operations or related Microsoft technologies preferred.
- Experience with Power Platform, Azure integrations, and data analytics tools preferred.
