We are seeking a Sr Appl/Sys Sales Engineer with deep expertise Honeywell Security and Access Solutions (SAS) to support complex sales engagements across the region. The role combines technical leadership, solution design, customer engagement, and value engineering, acting as a trusted advisor to customers and a key technical partner to sales teams.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in positioning, architecting, and differentiating integrated security solutions, ensuring technical excellence, compliance, and alignment with customer business objectives.
The Honeywell Sr Appl/Sys Sales Engineer reports to the META Field Service Manager & works closely with SAS (Security and Access Solutions) Regional Sales Leader – Africa, and the Customers by providing techno-commercial advice and guidance on the solutions.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:
Pre-Sales & Solution Design:
• Act as the technical authority for LenelS2 and Honeywell Security portfolios including:
o Access Control Systems (ACS)
o Video Management Systems (VMS)
o Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS)
o Integrated Security Platforms
• Design end-to-end security architectures aligned with customer requirements, standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Perform value engineering, ensuring optimal technical and commercial solutions.
Sales & Customer Engagement:
• Partner closely with sales teams to support opportunity qualification, bid strategy, and deal closure.
• Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts (POCs) to customers, consultants, and partners.
• Respond to RFPs/RFQs, prepare compliance matrices, technical clarifications, and deviations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with consultants, system integrators, and end users. Lead technical discovery sessions, site assessments, and requirement analysis.
• On quarterly basis, conduct live and digital events for customers (products sales certification training, webinars & NPI presentations)
Technical Leadership & Enablement:
• Serve as a mentor and technical escalation point for other application engineers.
• Support partners and internal teams through training, solution workshops, and best-practice sharing.
• Stay current on product roadmaps, cybersecurity requirements, and industry trends.
Service Coordination:
· Support the Services Sales team in preparing proposals, quotations, and tender documents.
· Keep a record of all potential service customers in the META region (SUSP, training, PES, CS, and Embedded services)
· Ensure timely review, approval, and submission of proposals in alignment with company policies.
· Maintain an accurate record of all opportunities, quotes, and pipeline updates in the NEX system.
· Coordinate with field service manager and sales teams for approvals, pricing, and compliance.
· Track project and contract status to ensure timely execution and closure.
· Serve as a point of contact for customers regarding service quotation updates, documentation, and project coordination.
Training Coordination:
· Plan and coordinate internal and external training programs (onsite and virtual).
· Keep track of all customers training records with regards to the number of certified engineers and certification validity.
· Follow up with all VARs and make sure that their certification requirements are being met.
· Ensure all VAR engineers are trained, and their certification is renewed annually and up to date with the latest release of the software.
· Manage logistics such as scheduling, venue arrangements, and materials.
· Coordinate all on demand and scheduled trainings for the entire META region.
· Maintain accurate training records and track compliance requirements.
· Keep track of all training revenues and ensure that the sales targets are being met every year.
· Gather and evaluate information from employees and management on previous training to identify weaknesses and areas that need additional training.
· Market company training programs to customers and provide information on benefits to encourage participation
Commercial Excellence:
· Develop and maintain weekly, monthly, and quarterly commercial performance reports.
· Track revenue, margin, order intake, pipeline, backlog, and forecast accuracy.
· Analyze sales KPIs including win rates, conversion ratios, pricing trends, and customer segmentation.
· Provide variance analysis against targets, budgets, and prior year performance.
· Design and manage dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or CRM analytics.
· Automate reporting processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
· Ensure data integrity and consistency across all business units
· Support Field Service managers with service pipeline tracking and forecast consolidation.
· Analyze forecast gaps and risk opportunities.
· Monitor sales cycle duration and deal progression metrics.
· Align reporting standards across regions and business units.
QualificationsYou must have:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Computer, or related field).
• Proficient in Arabic and English language
• 8+ years of experience in security systems pre-sales / application engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
o Honeywell Security products (ACS, VMS, Intrusion, integration platforms)
o Third party security systems
• Proven experience in large-scale, multi-site, and integrated security projects.
• Experience working with consultants, EPCs, and system integrators in Egypt and Africa Region
