● Contract Type: Full Time / Permanent
● Region Coverage: Americas (USA, Canada, Latin America)
About the Role:

● Collaborate with payroll partners to collect and validate all payroll inputs, including salaries, bonuses, benefits, allowances, and deductions. Conduct rigorous pre- and post-payroll reconciliations to eliminate anomalies or duplicate records before finalization.
● Ensure the accurate and timely completion of payroll fiscal close procedures, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. Work with the broader Finance team to identify and resolve payroll accounting exceptions.
● Understand the full payroll cycle through to GL bookings and present meaningful flux analysis to stakeholders.
● Stay current on and ensure strict compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local payroll regulations, tax laws, social security, and benefits requirements across all AMR jurisdictions.
● Ensure compliance with payroll internal controls, maintaining robust documentation and proactively identifying and remediating any control gaps or weaknesses. Assist in facilitating internal and external audit engagements.
● Partner with key stakeholders including People Services, HRIS, Compensation & Benefits, Stock Admin, and Finance to troubleshoot issues and work collaboratively to develop optimum processes and service delivery.
● Drive the payroll Global Finance Transformation roadmap, focusing on eliminating manual workflows and implementing scalable, automated payroll solutions.
● Collaborate with internal and external partners to drive automation and enhance service delivery.
Your Skills & Experience:
Beyond core technical payroll knowledge, we are seeking an innovative, highly data-literate payroll professional who actively identifies opportunities to leverage modern tools, AI, and emerging technologies to automate workflows and transform end-to-end payroll operations.
For consideration, you must bring the following skills, experience and behaviours to our team:
● Experience: 3+ years of proven experience in a senior analyst payroll role, specifically working with Americas payroll (US required; Canada and LATAM experience is a major plus).
● Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field—or an equivalent payroll certification.
● Regulatory Compliance: Solid understanding of US/Canadian payroll taxes, statutory deductions, and labour regulations.
● Hands-on experience processing payroll and running reports in Workday and/or Dayforce (Ceridian).
● Spreadsheet Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and Google Sheets (must be comfortable using Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and managing large data sets).
● Familiarity with how HRIS data flows into downstream payroll and Finance/GL systems.
● Strong ability to perform pre- and post-payroll reconciliations, investigate gross-to-net variances, and flag data errors before finalization.
● Experience supporting month-end close procedures, including preparing journal entries and assisting Finance/FP&A teams with cost analysis.
● Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to partner effectively across HR, Finance, and external vendors.
● Ability to stay organized and solve problems independently in a fast-paced, global team environment.
● Customer service focus with the ability and sound judgment to handle highly sensitive information.
● Process improvement mindset: have a passion for reengineering payroll processes in implementing a first-class payroll service.
● Strong interest in applying emerging technologies—such as AI, ML, and RPA—to re-engineer enterprise payroll workflows, eliminate manual touchpoints, and unlock value-added insights for workforce planning.
